    A senior police chief will tell a conference in Warwickshire later that forces are facing a "perfect storm" of cuts and rising crime.

    Ch Supt Gavin Thomas, from the Police Superintendents' Association, will deliver his warning at the group's annual conference in Stratford-upon-Avon.

    His warning comes after a survey of the association's members found that only a quarter of the 900 who responded thought they had enough resources to do their job properly.

    The association is calling for measures to be introduced to improve the health and wellbeing of superintending ranks and the wider service.

    England international Elliot Daly has extended his contract with Wasps, the club says.

    The 24-year-old, who started every test for the British and Irish Lions against the All Blacks this summer, is the third-longest serving player at the club.

    A Wasps Academy graduate, Daly has made 157 appearances for the senior squad since making his debut aged 18.

    Dan Robson became only the 13th player to score four times in a Premiership match, and only the second scrum-half, after Wasps beat Sale 50-35.

    Wasps started their season with a bonus-point victory at the Ricoh Arena.

    He went over twice inside 14 minutes before Christian Wade extended Wasps' lead, and although Byron McGuigan replied, Robson claimed his hat-trick.

    Wasps' head coach, Dai Young, said Robson showed "real class" during the match.

    Postal workers are being offered £1,000 a week to steal bank cards, a BBC investigation has found.

    Online adverts offer huge sums to tempt Royal Mail staff to intercept letters containing cards and PIN numbers.

    More than 11,000 people in the UK have been affected by this type of fraud in 2016, where bank cards are stolen in transit, according to UK Finance.

    Royal Mail would not disclose how many workers had been convicted but claimed "the theft of mail is very rare".

    It added its security team was investigating the findings by BBC Inside Out West Midlands and it had no evidence of its employees being involved.

    A BBC journalist posed as a postman and responded to an advert offering £1,000 a week to intercept letters.
