    A Worcestershire golfer has landed a hole-in-one on a hole dedicated to the memory of his family's cat.

    Andy Dunster hit the hole-in-one on the eighth at the Worcestershire Golf Club in Malvern, around which the family cat, Dave, used to wander on a daily basis.

  5. Solicitors closed after 'dishonesty' by managerpublished at 16:38 British Summer Time 17 August 2016

    A law firm in Worcester has been ordered to close by the Solicitors Regulation Authority, external (SRA) because there is "reason to suspect dishonesty on the part of the manager".

    The SRA said Diane Lee, the manager of Simply Solicitors had failed to comply with its principles and accounts rules.

    The watchdog said it took the decision to intervene because it felt it had to "protect the interests of clients (or former or potential clients) of the firm".

    In a statement Ms Lee said the returns she had submitted were drafts, while she awaited further information.

    She said she was "disappointed" with the SRA decision because she was currently off work sick, but would have been "more than willing to deal with any queries" once well enough.

    "I made the decision to cease trading myself in June / July 2016 to enable me to concentrate on the legal issues," she added.

    Police are appealing for witnesses to yesterday's crash that ended with two lorries on fire.

    The incident happened shortly before 11:30 on the eastbound carriageway of the A449 Worcester northern link road, between the B4850 Blackpole Road and the M5. 

    West Mercia Police say they would particularly like to hear from the driver of a maroon vehicle that was seen in the area at the time, as they may have important information about the collision.

    Severn Trent Water has apologised to residents in Redditch who were left without water for several hours after a water main burst.

    The water company says it worked through the night to repair the pipe close to the A4189. 

    A handful of customers are still affected.
