    Three Worcestershire players will tomorrow begin a winter playing in Australia.

    Tom Kohler-Cadmore will be playing for Penrith Panthers for a second successive winter, after topping the averages with 533 runs at an average of 59.22 during 2015-2016.

    Ed Barnard and Alex Hepburn will be both competing in the same competition - the Western Australia Cricket Association first grade - for Scarborough and Willetton.

    Worcester Warriors will head to Saturday's Aviva Premiership clash with Leicester Tigers with grounds for optimism, while appreciating any game at Welford Road is likely to be a serious test.

    The former West Midlands UKIP MEP Nikki Sinclaire says when she was a member of the party she witnessed violent behaviour at party meetings.

    And she described the confrontation yesterday, which left MEP Steven Woolfe needing hospital treatment, as "not very edifying".

    Ms Sinclaire left the party in 2010 after a difference of opinion over the party's direction and she said there was a lot of frustration among members, because it was a "melting pot" of people from different political backgrounds.

    But her claims were disputed by current UKIP MEP Roger Helmer, who said he had never seen violent confrontations between UKIP representatives.

  11. Man charged over firearms incident in Malvernpublished at 12:27 British Summer Time 7 October 2016
    Breaking

    A 21 year-old man from Malvern has been charged with two offences involving an imitation firearm, external.

    West Mercia Police say the charge follows an incident in the Pickersleigh Road area of Malvern on Wednesday.

    The man has been remanded in custody and will appear at Worcester Magistrates' Court today.

    A 24-year-old man from Malvern has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and has been released on police bail until 17 November.

    The Archbishop of Canterbury, who's on a three-day visit to Worcestershire, will face questions from pupils at two Worcester schools.

    Justin Welby will visit Regency High School and Bishop Perowne Church of England College.

    Pupils at Bishop Perowne will be asking him questions about the refugee crisis and killings in the name of religion.

    A decision will be made today about what evidence will be heard at the inquest into the death of a Worcestershire man in a canal

    Alan Green, who was 49, died when his canal boat sank in a lock on the Droitwich canal in July. He was a father of six. 

    A pre-inquest review will be held this morning.

    Neil Urquhart, from Redditch, says his vehicle has been on the roads since 1927, but he was told by the Driver Vehicle Standards Agency it couldn't take a driving test as it didn't have rubber tyres
