    Supporters have been asked to "take some responsibility" by Hereford FC after the FA announced the club is under investigation following crowd problems at recent FA Cup games.

    The Bulls have asked fans travelling to their next two away games to exert a "steadying influence" on their friends and "take some responsibility to ensure their companions stay within the limits of acceptable behaviour".

    The club says it is "looking at the possibility of serving a number of fans with 12-month banning orders".

    A crowd of 4,500 turned out for the first meeting at Hereford Racecourse in almost four years.

    Former champion jockey Peter Scudamore, who hails from Herefordshire, was among those delighted the track was now back in action.

  5. Family of dead teenager "broken" after inquest highlights "police failings"published at 08:46 British Summer Time 7 October 2016

    The family of a teenager who died from hypothermia on a Shropshire golf course say they have been "broken" by his death.

    An inquest into the death of Tyrone Lock, from Hope under Dinmore in Herefordshire ruled that "significant police failings" contributed to his death.

    Mr Lock's mother Tracey Lock said she was "happy to get justice for Tyrone" who "was a gentleman... and a pleasure".

    "I'm so proud to be his mum," she added, but said the family was "broken" without him.

    Det Ch Insp Paul Moxley said: "We acknowledge today's verdict and we will now look to work closely with NPAS to review future callout procedures.

    "Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of Tyrone following his tragic death."

  12. Police handed footage 'showing evidence of big cat'published at 17:52 British Summer Time 6 October 2016

    West Mercia Police, external has been handed video footage which it's claimed shows evidence of a big cat in south Worcestershire. 

    The force has confirmed it's received three reports of sightings of a leopard-like creature around Upton-upon-Severn. 

    Bob Lawrence, a big cat expert from West Midland Safari Park, external, says he's been contacted by police, but is sceptical of local residents' claims.

    There'd been a number of reported sightings of a black animal. I was shown some very grainy video images of this animal taken on a phone and it did look very cat-like but no-one was really sure the range in which the pictures were taken."

  14. Police respond to Tyrone Lock inquest verdictpublished at 17:40 British Summer Time 6 October 2016

    West Mercia Police have been criticised for "significant failings" which contributed to the death of 18-year-old Tyrone Lock from Herefordshire at a Whitchurch golf course last year.

    One of the criticisms was that the force weren't able to call on the support of a police helicopter to help search for the teenager when he fled into the night, wearing just a pair of boxer shorts and his socks.

    The force has responded by saying: "We acknowledge today's verdict and we will now look to work closely with the National Police Air Service to review future call out procedures."

    And it added: "Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of Tyrone following his tragic death."

    A Bromsgrove mother says she was "amazed" when West Ham, external winger Michail Antonio drove 200 miles to hand-deliver a shirt for a charity auction set up in memory of her late daughter.

    Charlotte Sharratt and her husband, Richard, set up charity Little Angels after her daughter, Libby Mae, died at two weeks old from heart complications. 

    The mother says she couldn't believe it when Antonio turned up to their charity ball.

    The father of a Herefordshire teenager found dead on a Shropshire golf course last November has said the police "could have saved his life", but that they "let him down" by not finding him before he died of hypothermia.

    Tyrone Lock, from Hope-under-Dinmore, had earlier fled police officers at the Hill Valley Hotel near Whitchurch and his father Jim Lock said "they never acted appropriate, like they should have done".

    An inquest found "significant police failings" had contributed to his death.

    His mother, Tracey Lock, described him as a "gentleman, loved by everybody" and said the family felt the police should have done more to find him.
