    Drivers in Worcestershire are being warned of a number of road closures due to flooding. 

    The ford in Walcot Lane near Pershore, Houndsfield Lane in Wythall, Draycott Lane in Kempsey, and Stocks Lane in Malvern are all impassable, say Worcestershire County Council Highways Department. 

    Several other roads including a number in Herefordshire are flooded but passable with care, external.

    Members of the public have been exploring an archaeological site near Broadway in Worcestershire, where Roman and Saxon remains have been found. 

    Visitors have been able to handle some of the artefacts uncovered by experts excavating near Badsey Brook, as part of a flood risk management scheme by the Environment Agency.

  7. Police begin Christmas crack-down on thefts from HGVspublished at 14:41 Greenwich Mean Time 21 November 2016

    West Mercia Police are hoping to reduce the number of thefts from HGVs, external over the Christmas period.

    As part of Operation Axle - they'll be increasing patrols around motorway service areas, truck stops and lay-bys.

    The aim is to deter thieves who typically take advantage of the increased number of lorries parked up overnight at this time of year, police say.

    The new head of the Wye Valley NHS Trust wants more services to be provided at Hereford County Hospital.

    Herefordshire is now sharing a chief executive with Warwickshire as part of plans to improve standards.

  10. Bomb expert predicts more shells will be found in Worcesterpublished at 13:43 Greenwich Mean Time 21 November 2016

    A national bomb expert is predicting at least one more shell will be found near the old Norton barracks at Worcester. 

    Two shells were discovered at the site last week by rail workers and destroyed by controlled explosions.

    Hundreds of people gathered in the streets of the Herefordshire market town of Bromyard over the weekend to see the town's Christmas lights switched on for the first time.

    In Bromsgrove the crowds turned out to see their local sporting hero switch on the lights. 

    Lauren Rowles, won gold at this year's Paralympics in Rio, coming first in the trunk and arms mixed double sculls.

    Rail travellers in Herefordshire and Worcestershire are being warned of disruption to services because of heavy flooding. 

    Great Western Trains says services from London and Cardiff have been cancelled, because of flooding between Bristol and Swindon. 

    It means that some services through Hereford and Worcester are being delayed or diverted.

    A Worcestershire businessman says it's too soon to tell whether Brexit has affected people's shopping habits this Christmas. 

    Dean Attwell, who runs a food distribution centre in Redditch, says people appear to be spending as normal and they won't know until the New Year whether shoppers are less confident.

  17. Charity head-shave ahead of chemotherapypublished at 11:42 Greenwich Mean Time 21 November 2016

    A Worcestershire woman who has breast cancer is getting ready to have her head shaved for charity, before then having chemotherapy. 

    Helen Wilson, 43, from Fernhill Heath is urging others to learn the signs of the disease, after doctors found she had cancerous lumps in both her breasts. 

    She hopes the head-shave will help to raise awareness and she's also donating the hair to the Little Princess Trust to be made into a wig.
