'Extraordinary threat' of shells found near Worcesterpublished at 10:29 Greenwich Mean Time 21 November 2016
A military bomb expert says any shells found at the old Norton Army barracks near Worcester could pose an "extraordinary threat".
Two shells were discovered at the site last week by rail workers and destroyed by controlled explosions.
Drainage work has been suspended while Network Rail carry out a ground survey to search for more unexploded bombs.
Quote MessageThe two that have been found were high explosives. That's what's called the 'blast frag warhead', so you're talking about a kill radius of maybe 50 metres."
