    From Sunday, dog owners walking their pets in the Wyre Forest need to make sure they’ve got the means to clear up after them.

    A new public space protection order comes into effect giving council enforcement officers broader powers to deal with dog owners who don’t properly control or clean up after their pets in public open spaces.

    New offences have been created, requiring people to clean up after their pet, keep their dog on a lead in some areas and have a means to clear up after any dogs in their possession.

    A Worcestershire golf club is undergoing a £500,000 revamp, just a couple of months after it almost shut for good.

    Sapey Golf Club was due to close in June, but was saved by a last-minute takeover by Wyldecrest Parks.

    The company’s chair is businessman Alfie Best, who featured on the My Big Fat Gypsy Fortune television programme.

    Holidaymakers returning from foreign shores are being reminded to check luggage for illegal stowaways - of the reptile kind.

    One Warwick family recently found a lizard creeping out of a suitcase after a holiday in Greece, with another gecko found clinging on to hand luggage during a journey from Turkey to Hereford.

    As the reptiles are not native to the UK, the RSPCA is reminding travellers it's an offence to release them or allow them to escape into the wild.

    The University of Worcester, external has welcomed more youngsters to an international camp inspiring budding basketball players from the UK and Spain.

    Eighty young players took part in the second University of Worcester/Valencia Basket residential camp, topping the 60 that came to last year’s inaugural event.

    The annual week-long camp brings coaches from the university, its basketball team, Worcester Wolves, and Valencia Basket together.

    It is a result of the university’s partnership agreement with the Spanish club, who were crowned Spanish ACB champions in May.

    Spanish youngsters who attended also had English language classes alongside the chance to improve their basketball skills.

    London Midland is warning passengers travelling from Worcester Foregate Street station to check before they travel.

    Staff shortages mean it won’t be able to dispatch longer trains safely from the station.

    The firms says it’s providing a shuttle bus service between Foregate Street and nearby Shrub Hill station and says you can check if your journey is affected online.

    Police have made seven arrests as part of an ongoing investigation into organised drug crime activities.

    Three men, aged 42, 35 and 27 from Kidderminster, have been held on suspicion of conspiring to supply Class A drugs.

    A 34-year-old man from the town has been arrested on suspicion of conspiring to supply Class A drugs and possession of controlled drugs, West Mercia Police, external said.

    Three men, aged 44, 19 and 19 from Kidderminster, have been held on suspicion of possession of controlled drugs.
