Police say a woman knocked on the door of the elderly woman's house in Hull and said she was tired and hungry after a long shift at the hospital.

The victim let the woman into the property and went into the kitchen.

When she turned around the woman had left with the victim's handbag.

Humberside Police said the thief was mixed race, tall with a slim build, in her early 40s with black hair swept over to one side and plaited.

    Quote Message

This woman clearly took advantage of a vulnerable member of the community and this in itself is despicable. I would remind people not to let any strangers into their homes, no matter how believable their story might be."
