    A digger has been used to steal an ATM in Kirton-in-Lindsey, external in North Lincolnshire. 

    It happened in the early hours of this morning:

    Digger in road with hole in the wall

    Police received a call at about 02:00 reporting that a digger was being used to take the cash machine from the One Stop Shop in High Street. 

    Four men were said to have been involved and the machine was taken away in the back of a van. 

    Officers say they are encouraging businesses with cash machines outside their premises to ensure they have good security measures in place.

    We've had an update on the condition of a Grimsby man who was left fighting for his life, external after taking a so-called legal high. 

    The 43-year-old is in a critical but stable condition in hospital. 

    He was found collapsed on Monday at a property in Thorgam Court. 

    Two men and two women have been arrested and bailed.

    Scunthorpe United , externalboss Graham Alexander and Grimsby Town, external striker Omar Bogle are award winners this morning. 

    Alexander has won the League One Manager of the Month award for November whilst Bogle has picked up League Two's Player of the Month award for the same period. 

    The Iron were unbeaten in the league with three wins and a draw in league competition but Alexander is quick to deflect the attention away from himself when discussing the award.

    A new leader will be chosen for North Lincolnshire Council next week. 

    Earlier this year the leader, Councillor Liz Redfern, announced she was stepping down, but will continue as a ward councillor for Axholme Central.

    A woman who's walking the length of the UK coastline for charity will be passing through our area today.

    Natalia Spencer began her walk to raise money for the Wallace and Gromit appeal back in February this year after she lost her daughter Elizabeth, to a rare immune disease.

    Here's a remarkable story of survival. Ten minutes of oxygen left, and a decision which dictates whether you live, or die at the bottom of the Atlantic. 

    That's the event which changed the course of Horst Jackson's life. 

    Ninety-year-old Horst, a German U-boat torpedo operator was captured as a prisoner of war by British forces. He eventually found himself in Market Rasen where he met his wife and settled there.

    Horst will be a guest of honour at the 'original' Veterans Breakfast Club in Hull tomorrow - spending time with men who would have been the enemy, but have ultimately been united by a shared struggle to survive.

  16. Conservatives win Sleaford by-electionpublished at 06:51 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2016

    Conservative candidate Caroline Johnson has won the Sleaford and North Hykeham by-election, which saw Labour come in fourth behind UKIP and the Liberal Democrats.

    The Tory party held onto the seat which became vacant after MP Stephen Phillips quit, citing "irreconcilable policy differences" with the government.

    Dr Johnson won 17,570 votes to beat UKIP's Victoria Ayling, who had 4,426.

    Labour slipped from second place in the 2015 general election to fourth.
