    Hull City have told us they haven't accepted a bid from Burnley for full-back Andy Robertson.

    National reports say Burnley have made a £10m offer for the Scottish international, but the club isn't confirming this.   

    And it looks as though it will be a busy period for Hull City before the transfer window closes tomorrow night, because Tigers head coach Marco Silva (pictured) wants to bring in up to four new players. 

    But yesterday Silva told us he is not prepared to let defender Harry Maguire go, despite growing interest from a host of Premier League outfits. 

  2. Businesses urged to get involved with Tour de Yorkshirepublished at 14:03 Greenwich Mean Time 30 January 2017

    Companies are being encouraged to get on board with the Tour de Yorkshire this year.

    The cycle race returns to Bridlington, which hosted the first ever start of the event back in 2015. 

    Organisers are running an open day in Bridlington today, where local businesses can find out how they can get involved.

  3. Group's double attack on Grimsby taxipublished at 13:39 Greenwich Mean Time 30 January 2017

    A taxi was attacked and damaged twice, external by a group of about 10 people in Grimsby at the weekend.

    The vehicle, a white Renault Trafic taxi, being driven by a 45-year-old woman, was approached by the group on Doughty Road at about 20:00 on Friday and one rear passenger side window was smashed.

    About 15 minutes later, the taxi was again attacked by the same group on a different street and the front passenger side window of the vehicle was smashed.

    Anyone with information about the incident is being asked to contact police.

    It's not been a straightforward journey for Hull's iconic piece of graffiti.

    'Dead Bod' art

    The "Dead Bod" artwork was created in the 1960s and used by trawlermen on the Humber as an unofficial signal they were nearly home.  

    Now it's getting a new home in the Humber Street Gallery.  

    Here's a a brief timeline showing how we got to today's announcement:

    • February 2015 - ABP, the owners of the land the Dead Bod shed is on, confirm the landmark will be preserved for future generations and ask for the public's ideas on where it should go
    • August 2015 - ABP report that Dead Bod has been taken down and put into storage until a decision is made about it's future
    • September 2015 - ABP announce a new potential site for Dead Bod - in the car park at the ferry terminal
    • December 2015 - With Dead Bod still in storage and in need of a new home, the daughter of the artist tells Radio Humberside she was disappointed with what ABP were offering

    Did you know that Lawrence of Arabia lived in Bridlington for a time?

    T. E. Lawrence helped to unite feuding Arab tribes into a formidable guerrilla army which assisted in toppling the Ottoman Empire, and shaped the modern Middle East.

    But he also worked for the the RAF in East Yorkshire, visiting between 1932 and 1935.  

    Richard Knowles, who has researched Lawrence's time in East Yorkshire, has told Radio Humberside about a letter he's seen which showed he wasn't all that fond of the town.

    The announcement that a decades-old piece of graffiti from Hull's Alexandra Dock is to have a new home in the city's Humber Street Gallery is one we've been following all day.

    'Dead Bod' graffiti

    The "Dead Bod" graffiti was created by skipper Len "Pongo" Rood in the 1960s and was used by trawlermen on the Humber as an unofficial signal that they were nearly home.

    Back in 2015, Associated British Ports put the artwork into storage as the shed it was painted on was taken down to make way for the Siemens Greenport Development.

    Martin Green, the chief executive of Hull 2017, says "Dead Bod" deserves a special home:

    A boy has been rescued from a cliff ledge in Hornsea after getting stuck up to his waist in mud.

    A coastguard crew was called out yesterday afternoon when the boy became trapped after falling a short way down the cliff. 

    He's thought to have been suffering from mild hypothermia and was taken to hospital.

    Here are just a few reactions to the announcement today that Hull's iconic "Dead Bod" graffiti will be housed at the Humber Street Gallery.

    The graffiti spent decades painted on a corrugated iron shed at Alexandra Dock, acting as a landmark for trawlers before being saved for posterity a couple of years ago.

    As we've been hearing this morning, the Humber Street Gallery will be the new home for an iconic piece of graffiti.

    The "Dead Bod" graffiti was originally painted on corrugated iron on a shed at Alexandra Dock in the 1960s and was used as a landmark for trawlers for several decades.

    Health bosses in East Yorkshire will soon invite bids from companies to run their non-emergency patient transport service. 

    The contract with current providers, Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS), runs out in March. 

    A leaked letter seen by the BBC suggests YAS has told East Riding of Yorkshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) it currently operates the service at a 33% loss and will not be re-bidding for the contract under the current terms. 

    Alex Seale, from the CCG, confirmed they've been in discussion with the Yorkshire Ambulance Service about the future of the contract:

    The Yorkshire Ambulance Service says it's fully committed to engaging in the tender process and hopes to put in a competitive and commercially sustainable bid.

  14. Smokers 'cost local economy over £150m a year'published at 09:33

    Smoking-related illness is costing the Yorkshire and Humber region more than £153m a year, according to new figures.

    The statistics have been compiled by charity Action on Smoking and Health (ASH).

    The money is being spent on providing care for people in their own homes, the charity says.

    Hull has the highest percentage of smokers in the country.

    It's the piece of graffiti on the banks of the Humber which became a legendary marking point to guide trawlers home - and now it's getting a new home at the Humber Street Art Gallery.

    The "Dead Bod" graffiti was painted onto corrugated iron on a shed at Alexandra Dock in the 1960s by skipper Len "Pongo" Rood.

    Dead Bod has been in storage since a campaign to save it when the shed was pulled down to make way for the Siemens Greenport Development almost two years ago.

    That's the suggestion of a new report by the Centre for Cities, which says Hull is the only British city which exports more products to the USA than to the EU.
