The Hackney Carriage Association says up to 50 cabs will drive in convoy around the town, because roadworks on Ferensway have increased journey times and fares for passengers.

Hull City council says the changes have improved safety and congestion, but there are claims that drivers are at risk.

    Quote Message

At night time customers are struggling to understand why we're taking them a long way. This has lead to assaults, racial abuse and damage to several vehicles. That's not acceptable to us, we don't want this to be happening. Our drivers should come to work and feel safe."
