    Hull City Council says it's looking at legal action to force the owners of the derelict Lord Line building (pictured) to make it more secure.

    After a string of trespassing incidents, the council and emergency services wrote to Manor Property group asking them to improve security earlier this month but they've failed to to carry out the work by today's deadline.

    The Manor Property Group haven't responded to our latest calls about the action but told us earlier in May that they have spent in excess of £200,000 on security at the site.

  12. Yorkshire and Humber workers lowest paid in Englandpublished at 17:22 British Summer Time 23 May 2017

    New figures obtained by the BBC show that a typical worker in Yorkshire and Humber is the lowest paid in England.

    The median wage is £20,496 compared to the national figure which is £23,350.

    Yorkshire also has had the slowest growing economy in Great Britain over the five years leading up to 2015.

    Police say a 31-year-old man was assaulted and suffered head injuries during a night out in Market Place, Beverley.

    Police are appealing for witnesses.

  16. Manchester attack: Security being 'reviewed' at Big Weekendpublished at 16:32 British Summer Time 23 May 2017

    Martin Green (pictured) from Hull 2017 has reiterated comments by BBC Radio 1 and Humberside Police saying safety is 'paramount' ahead of the Big Weekend festival this Saturday and Sunday.

    It comes after 22 people were killed and 59 hurt in a suicide bomb attack at a pop concert in Manchester.

  17. Man fails to stop after crash at busy Hull roundaboutpublished at 15:32 British Summer Time 23 May 2017

    A driver failed to stopped after crashing at a busy Hull roundabout (pictured) on Sunday evening.

    He was driving what is being described as a large black car with big distinctive tyres.

    It was involved in a crash with a blue rover.

    The incident took place at the roundabout with Leads Road, Carr Lane and Holwell Road in Hull shortly after 20:00 on Sunday 21 May.

    Police are appealing for information.

  18. Manchester attack: Radio 1 carrying out 'full assessment' before Big Weekendpublished at 15:09 British Summer Time 23 May 2017

    BBC Radio 1 have told us they'll be carrying out a full assessment with their partners ahead of BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend festival. It comes after 22 people were killed and 59 injured at a pop concert in Manchester.

    It's BBC Hull's understanding that there is no plans to cancel the event at this stage.

    A football programme for overweight and obese men that's run across the country is starting in Hull tonight.

    It's called Man v Fat and sees men playing in football leagues being rewarded not just for the goals they score, but also for their collective weight loss.
