More on the news that a man who caused part of Bridlington to be shut down by the bomb squad last August has been sentenced at Hull Crown Court to eight months in prison.
Gert Meyers says he "forgot" to apply for a licence to keep chemicals in his house on Oxford Street.
He'd been running an online business selling them.
Ian Dixon, Chief Inspector of Policing for Humberside Police, says Gert Mayers was a danger to himself:
A man who caused a large-scale evacuation in the Oxford Street area of Bridlington has been sentenced to eight months in prison, four of those to be served behind bars.
Gert Meyers, 55, who had been running an online chemical supply business from his home, pleaded guilty in March to keeping potentially dangerous chemicals without a permit.
Police raided Meyers' house on 4 August last year.
He was arrested and neighbouring streets were evacuated while the army's bomb squad and scientists made the chemicals safe.
Meyers had previously been questioned by the police after legally supplying chemicals to two people who were later convicted of terrorism offences.
