    Concerns are growing for the welfare of a 45-year-old man who's gone missing from Hull.

    Lee Sidaway was last seen at about 10:00 on Tuesday in Hull city centre.

    Police say they're worried as Mr Sidaway suffers from a pre-existing medical condition.

    He's described as 5ft 6ins tall, of slim build, with shaved grey hair and green eyes.

    He was last seen wearing a navy blue polo shirt, navy blue v-neck jumper, navy blue jacket, navy blue trousers, black steel toe cap boots and a black rucksack.

    Anyone with information is being asked to contact police.

    It's been widely reported that the Czech international is a player City are keen to bring to the club.

    It's hoped Slutsky's friendship with Blues owner Roman Abramovich could improve those chances.

    However, continued interest from other clubs could scupper a potential deal.

    Almost 10,000 more homes in Hull and East Yorkshire are being promised access to ultrafast broadband by the end of this year.

    People living in the Longhill, Sutton and Bilton areas will be able to order the new service over the next month.

    It's part of KCOM's £60m investment into ultrafast broadband in the area, the company says.

    The trust which runs Hull Royal Infirmary has confirmed it has sent samples of cladding for testing in the light of the Grenfell Tower fire in London.

    The material was installed in 2014, according to Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust.

    The trust had previously released statements saying fire protection was incorporated within the cladding and would prevent a blaze from moving across floors at the building.

    The results of the tests are due next week and the trust said "the safety of everyone using the hospital is of utmost importance to us".

    In accordance with guidance set out by NHS Improvement, cladding samples have been sent away for testing. Based on the information obtained to date, we can confirm that the cladding on the Hull Royal Infirmary tower block is not the same as that used on the Grenfell Tower block."

    We've all heard of pick your own strawberries but an East Yorkshire grower is planning to take the concept a step further, by launching a pick your own flowers business.

    A yellow bouquet of flowers including daffodils and tulips.

    Next year Gill Hodgson from Everingham will become just the second commercial grower in Yorkshire to offer the option to select your own flowers.

    Gill says customers will be able to choose their own blooms from the one acre site.

    Steve Michaels is set to miss two to three weeks with an ankle injury he suffered in the win over Wakefield, Hull FC has confirmed.

    Michaels (pictured) had already been ruled out of Friday's trip to Castleford and coach Lee Radford says it'll be for more than just that game.

    Meanwhile, Radford won't confirm if former prop Mickey Paea is set for a return to the club.

    Paea, who also played for Hull KR during his time in Super League, has recently been linked with a move back to the Black and Whites, having left at the end of 2015.

    After a closure lasting nine months, the building formerly known as Staff House at Hull University has been reopened following a £7m redevelopment.

    It's is one of the oldest university buildings, dating back to 1948, and is named Canham Turner after a former student who left a £5.3m donation to the university in her will in 2015.

    The refurbishment is part of a £200m investment which will include refurbishing the Brynmor Jones Library and a new £28m health campus, which opens this summer.

    The "world's favourite colour" - at least according to the findings of a global survey - is due to be announced in Hull shortly.

    As part of Paper City, an exhibition in Hull featuring large paper installations, the results of a survey of over 100 countries will be announced.

    The winning colour will be revealed when thousands of paper helicopters in the winning colour rain down from the sky.

    The BBC is coming back to Hull with another Big Weekend - but this time it's the Radio 3 Big Chamber Weekend.

    Four concerts will be broadcast live from The Middleton Hall at Hull University from Friday 7 July.

    There will be music from Schubert to Britten and Shostakovich covering the history of Hull including the Blitz, the North Sea and William Wilberforce.

    Local residents in Grimsby are being asked for their views on Humberside Police's plans to build a new custody suite in the town.

    The suite would replace current custody facilities at Grimsby and Scunthorpe police stations, which the force says are outdated.

    The police stations themselves would continue to operate, the force says.

    A public information session is being held today at the West Marsh Community Centre in Grimsby.

  20. Review follows mental health unit patient incidentpublished at 10:08 British Summer Time 29 June 2017

    A health board is to carry out a review after a patient absconded to North Lincolnshire from a Scottish mental health unit.

    It sparked a major police operation in the town last week before the man was eventually traced in Scunthorpe.

    The public was warned not to approach the missing Midpark hospital patient and children kept in some schools.

    NHS Dumfries and Galloway said it would be looking at the circumstances of the incident and aim to "minimise the likelihood" of it being repeated.
