Grimsby Town and Paul Dixon are understood to still be trying to negotiate a deal which would see the left-back join the club.
As things stand though, the parties have yet to agree on a contract and the former Scotland international is believed to have other offers.

Jewellery, a handbag, laptop and a suitcase were taken from a car on Willoughby Road in Scunthorpe.
It happened sometime between 21:30 on Friday 7 July and 08:30 the following morning.
Police are asking anyone who knows who this man is to get in touch on the 101 number or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Hull Kingston Rovers have made one last signing before the deadline for the Super 8's Qualifiers.
Hull FC's Jack Logan has joined Hull Kingston Rovers on-loan until the end of the season.
Logan had originally been set to stay with Doncaster.

The owner of a "filthy" guest house has been fined £7,000 after admitting falsely claiming the establishment had a four-star rating.
John Dixon Hart was prosecuted by East Riding of Yorkshire Council after a trading standards investigation.

Guests at Beverley Guest House complained of rooms with "dust and muck all over", mouldy showers and blood-stained walls.
One guest found mud inside a fridge and another found mouse droppings on a bed.

Police are asking for your help in finding a missing 14 year-old, external from Hull.
Dylan Batty hasn't been seen for seven days.
He was last seen in Perivale Close area of Hull wearing a blue puffa jacket.
If you know where Dylan is you're being asked to call the 101 number.

The 64 year old amateur started in second position, but has dropped to fourth.

Anne is only the 4th student from her special school to get a paid job in the past 20 years.
She's one of a number of young people with special educational needs and disabilities who's been involved in a unique programme at the Siemens wind turbine factory.

The company have also just revealed their new name - Siemens Gamesa.
The long term project aims to help the students go from work placements, to internships, to paid employment.
The scheme began back in January and Anne is the first student to get a permanent job.

He dumped a fridge freezer and a bath at the side of the road and now Paul Jobling has to pay £2,500.
Jobling, 44, of Nash Court in Hull pleaded guilty to fly-tipping at Beverley Magistrates court on Wednsday.
He admitted being paid £125 to take rubbish away from a property in Hull.
East Riding Council say people are responsible for disposing of their waste properly and legally, either by taking it to their local household waste recycling site, using the council's bulky waste collection service, or by hiring a licensed waste carrier.

A group of children from North Lincolnshire will perform at the Royal Albert Hall this weekend.
They're the only ones playing a piece they've composed themselves in a live BBC Proms Radio 3 broadcast on Sunday.
The song was composed in Scunthorpe during workshops between the children and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

New Hull City signing Fraizer Campbell has revealed that he turned down offers from the Premier League in order to re-sign for the Tigers.
The former Cardiff City and Crystal Palace striker, who was pivotal to Hull City's historic 2008 promotion, has told the Hull Daily Mail that committing to a second spell at the KCOM was, 'an easy decision' to make.
Meanwhile we're still waiting for confirmation of Liverpool midfielder Kevin Stewart's planned move to the club, as well as Andy Robertson's impending switch to Liverpool, both of which are expected to be announced later today.

The Irish pop band The Script have announced they'll be playing at the Bridlington Spa later this summer.
The three-piece band who have sold more than 29m records will visit the seaside town on Monday the 28th of August.

The striker, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Glanford Park, is currently preparing for the new season at Newcastle United.

There needs to be a rethink on SATs tests on the National Curriculum.
That's according to the new Hull West and Hessle MP, who has recently been elected to the Education Select Committee.
Emma Hardy believes primary school assessments, known as SATs, are unreasonable and need to be changed.
The Department for Education says it wants to establish a settled primary assessment for the long term and has recently carried out a public consultation in order to achieve this.

Hull's Grade II listed Splash Boat has had to be closed.
It's after routine maintenance found a number of issues on the structure.
The attraction, which is based at the city's East Park was due to reopen for the summer but will now undergo a full structural assessment.

The owner of an East Riding B&B has been fined over £7,000 for falsely claiming to have a four-star rating.
There were complaints the Beverley Guest House had dirty rooms, damp, mould and blood on the walls. One guest found mud inside a fridge and another found mouse droppings on the bed.
John Dixon Hart who's 53 and from Keldgate in Beverley appeared at Beverley's magistrates' court on Wednesday.

The owner of the Beverley Guest House, formerly known as Minster Garth, pleaded guilty to advertising and running a guest house below the minimum standards expected.
Back in 2008 Minster Garth had been given a four-star rating by Visit England.
Hart, who took over the business a few years later failed to renew the contract with Quality in Tourism/Visit England and continued to use the four-star rating without permission.
