    Bridlington is one of the ten most popular places in the country for railcard holders to visit.

    People with railcards get discounted travel and are typically over 60, under 25 or travelling in a pair.

    The figures come from the Rail Delivery Group.

    Brighton was the most visited beach resort for railcard holders, with Blackpool and Bournemouth also in the top ten.

    Children with severe disabilities at a school in Hull are able to create art work for the very first time by themselves, using just their eyes.

    Pupils at Frederick Holmes School have been using eye-tracking technology to paint - and the art is proving so popular, the pupils are now taking commissions.

    People are purchasing the artwork for £20 each.

    It means they've raised enough money to support the school's new mini bus, and the more money raised, means more machines to help more children develop their creative side.

  12. Service at sea to remember lost trawlermenpublished at 16:15 British Summer Time 17 July 2017

    Seven crewmen who died on board a Grimsby fishing trawler in World War One, while it was working to clear German mines, have been remembered in a service at sea.

    Lost trawlers

    The trawler, Alberta, was discovered by the Shipwrecks of the River Humber research team, who are locating all 375 vessels that were lost.

    After a plaque for the crew members was placed on the wreck, a service of remembrance was held above it.

    Martin Green has confirmed he will leave as CEO of Hull City of Culture in Easter 2018.

    It was revealed as part of a hot seat phone-in this morning, in which Martin faced a whole host of City of Culture related questions.

  14. Grimsby teenager charged with assaultpublished at 15:41 British Summer Time 17 July 2017

    A 16-year-old from Grimsby's been charged in connection with an assault at the Trivoli Tavern last week.

    A 35-year-old man sustained serious injuries.

    The teenager's been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm on 13 July 2017.

    Humberside Police are appealing for help in identifying these two men who are wanted in connection with the same incident:

    Approximately 6,000 babies are born at Hull & East Yorkshire Women's and Children's Hospital every year and this year, to celebrate Hull UK City of Culture 2017, each arrival is being documented in a huge piece of artwork.

    Every baby born at the hospital this year is having their footprint added to a unique piece of art.

    The artwork is being displayed on panels in the foyer at the hospital and next week’s installation will mark the halfway stage of the project.

    A new postcard celebrating the births will also be available at the installation on Tuesday 25 July.

    Humberside Police are appealing for witnessess after an 18-year-old cyclist had to be air lifted to hospital yesterday after a crash with a car on the A164 in Bridlington.

    The incident happened at the junction with Bessingby Gate at 17:30 in the evening.

    The teenager has serious injuries and the driver of the car was uninjured.
