    I'm in the Salisbury Close area of Scunthorpe, where a wanted man has taken to the roof of a house to evade capture by the police.

    A number of roads in the area have been cordoned off as Kyle Ferguson, who's wanted for what police describe as several "serious offences", remains on the roof.

    This morning's incident involving wanted man Kyle Ferguson, who's taken to a roof in Salisbury, Close, Scunthorpe (pictured), comes after a warning by police yesterday that anyone protecting him could face arrest.

    He's wanted for several offences including possession of an offensive weapon, affray, assault and public nuisance which police say is "in connection with a number of rooftop incidents".

    In a statement by Humberside Police, Ch Insp Matthew Wright said: "Anyone helping Kyle Ferguson will be dealt with.

    "He is wanted in connection with a series of serious offences and we will arrest him for those offences. Any further delays caused by other individuals assisting him will not be tolerated.

    "My message to anyone helping him is, is this worth your own liberty? Are you really prepared to be arrested in order to help him?"

    People in Scunthorpe are being warned to avoid the Salisbury Close area of the town after a man who's wanted by police took to a house roof in a bid to escape arrest.

    Kyle Ferguson is wanted by police over a number of offences including possession of an offensive weapon, affray, assault and public nuisance in connection with several rooftop incidents.

    A cordon is currently in place near Salisbury Close which also affects Plymouth Road, Bristol Road and West Common Lane, with Humberside Police also warning that public transport routes in the area will also be affected while the incident continues.

    The force says it wants to reassure local residents that they "fully understand the inconvenience this type of incident creates" and intend to resolve it "at the earliest and safest opportunity".

    Today's incident comes just a day after police warned anyone found harbouring Kyle Ferguson that they would be "dealt with".

    A statement from Humberside Police says: "We would like to extend our thanks for the support shown by the residents during this operation and that we fully understand the inconvenience this type of incident creates.

    "We want to reassure the community that we intend to resolve this at the earliest and safest opportunity."

    Police say they're due to meet local authority representatives and local community groups later "to provide further support and reassurance to the community".

    Network Rail is warning rail passengers that they may face some disruption to their journey times this August Bank Holiday weekend because of engineering work.

    Up to 10% of people who park using a blue disabled badge in East Yorkshire may be doing so illegally, according to the council.

    East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made the estimate as it has begun a crackdown on people using the badges when they shouldn't.

    The fraud investigation manager at the authority, Andy Hardy says in some cases they suspect people could be using badges belonging to deceased relatives.

    The council says enforcement officers will be making checks in the coming weeks.

    A new sculpture has been installed overnight in Queen's Gardens in Hull.

    The 10m high structure called 'Solar Gate' cost more than £300,000.

    It was initially planned for another site in the city centre, but was refused planning permission after being described as looking like "a granny's vase" by the Hull and Humber Chamber of Commerce.

    Humberside Police are trying to find the next of kin of 68-year-old Terence Martin who was found dead at his home on Ripley Close, Hull on Tuesday 8 August.

    Mr Martin's death is not being treated as suspicious, however inquiries to trace a next of kin have so far proved unsuccessful.
