    Monday saw thousands of Hull FC fans come out to celebrate their team winning the Challenge Cup final against Wigan.

    Research out today shows that since 2008 people across East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire have lost £250m to fixed-odds betting terminals

    At the moment you can bet up to £100 per spin but the Campaign for Fairer Gambling want this brought down to £2.

    But Ursula Servis who's from the Association for British Bookmakers says it wouldn't make a difference.

    A man's died after being hit by a taxi in Hull on Sunday evening.

    The 79-year-old man who was involved in the accident on Ferensway died of his injuries in hospital yesterday.

    Police are asking for anyone who saw the incident to get in touch with them on the 101 number.

    Young children and their parents are going to be encouraged to take part in workshops inspired by opera when they visit The Deep in Hull this week.

    The Deep will host operat classes

    It's a collaboration between the aquarium and Opera North to develop the relationship between parents and children and is based around songs influenced by the sea life on show.

    The workshops begin today and will also be running on Thursday and Friday.

    Beverley's Kyle Edmund has progressed into the second round of the US Open.

    Edmund, who reached the fourth round in New York last year, impressively defeated Dutch 32nd seed Robin Haase 6-3 7-5 6-3 in under two hours.

    World number 42 Edmund is the highest-ranked British male player in the tournament after the withdrawal of Andy Murray.

    The 22-year-old arrived at Flushing Meadows after a semi-final appearance at last week's Winston-Salem Open, meaning his victory over Haase was his eighth match in nine days.

    A local councillor has told people living on the East Marsh estate in Grimsby that they can beat the anti-social behaviour affecting the area.

    Events have been held recently, like the local fete pictured above, to help show the positive aspects of life on the estate.

    There's a meeting for local people tonight, where problems which have plagued the area, including drug-dealing and anti-social behaviour, will be discussed.

    Councillor Steve Beasant believes they will turn things around.

    Thousands of Hull FC fans saw the team return to the city yesterday after victory at Wembley on Saturday.

    Later this week they face Leeds Rhinos in the Super League and Radford says he's got a team capable of eventually winning the Grand Final at Old Trafford in October.
