    Raymond Clarkson, who's 38-years-old, was last seen on Friday, 15 September.

    Police are asking anyone who has seen him or knows where he is to get in touch.

    Hull Kingston Rovers skipper Shaun Lunt has been named Championship player of the season.

    The 30-year-old hooker was honoured in Manchester for leading his team back into the Super League.

    The club was also named as the Championship team of the year following promotion.

    The advice to people living near King George Dock in Hull is to keep their doors and windows closed while the clear-up operation continues, after an acid leak.

    Around 50 firefighters have been dealing with the incident overnight. Crews say the emergency phase of the incident is now over.

    The leak came from a tank containing 580 tonnes of hydrochloric acid. It's not clear how much spilled out.

    Our correspondent Paul Murphy has been following this story:

    The Environment Agency and the Health and Safety Executive are now working on site.

    They are trying to find out what caused the leak and if there has been any environmental impact.

    A man's died after the car he was in left the road and hit a tree , externalin Grimsby.

    The 27-year-old was a passenger in the car when it crashed just after 19:00 on Saturday evening on Tetney Road in Humberston.

    The driver of the blue Volvo V40 and two other passengers suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene.

    Police are asking for anyone with information to get in touch via the 101 number.

    Major roadworks on Newland Avenue in Hull will be suspended next month to allow access to Hull Fair.

    Newland Avenue is currently being resurfaced and the council says the work is ahead of schedule.

    The decision's been made to temporarily reopen the road for two weeks from Monday, 2 October.

    Police are concerned for the safety of a missing Scunthorpe man because he may be in need of medical attention.

    Christian Thompson, aged 44, (pictured) from the town was last seen on Saturday at 13:00 BST.

    Humberside Police say he may have travelled to Scarborough.

    He is around 6ft tall of thin build and bald and was last seen wearing a baseball cap, grey hooded top with blue jeans and trainers.

  8. Cigarette smuggling lorry driver jailed for 18 weekspublished at 11:34 British Summer Time 19 September 2017

    A Romanian lorry driver has been caught trying to smuggle over 34,000 cigarettes worth almost £10,000 in duty taxes, in to the UK through Hull Ferry Port.

    The 30-year-old, who was arrested by UK Border Force officers was sentenced to 18 weeks in prison at Hull Crown Court.

    Specialist equipment is being moved on to a fracking site in North Yorkshire today.

    Protesters were moved away from the entrance to the site in Kirby Misperton yesterday after causing an obstruction.

    Fifty fire fighters have been dealing with what they called a "major leak".

    Seventeen men are due at Hull Crown court today following trouble at a Grimsby Town pre-season friendly match in July.

    They were charged with violent disorder offences when they clashed with Sheffield United supporters and Humberside police after the game.

    Two police officers were injured during the disturbance.

    The Hull-based sailing charity CatZero (pictured), that helps young unemployed people is going to start working with vulnerable families in North East Lincolnshire.

    They've teamed up with Grimsby based CPO, which helps families approaching crisis.

    And they've got £340,000 from the Big Lottery Fund to help improve the lives of 100 families in Grimsby's East Marsh, West Marsh and South wards over the next three years.

    Fire crews from across Hull and specialist chemical units were involved in dealing with a "major" acid leak at King George Dock, Humberside Fire and Rescue Service has confirmed.

    The leak from a tank containing nearly 600 tonnes of hydrochloric acid happened late last night with fire crews taking several hours to bring it under control.

    Local residents were warned to keep windows and doors shut due to a vapour cloud caused by the leak, but no homes were evacuated.

    The incident has now been "scaled down", according to the fire service, with crews now working with the Environment Agency at the scene.

    However, it's not yet clear how much acid has been spilled into the dock.

  19. 'Major' acid leak at Hull Docks brought under controlpublished at 06:40

    A "major" acid leak at Hull Docks has been contained, according to Humberside Fire and Rescue Service.

    Fire crews were called to King George Dock late on Monday evening after reports of a leak in a tank containing 580 tonnes of hydrochloric acid.

    Local residents were asked to close their doors and windows after the leak caused a vapour cloud over the site.

    About 50 firefighters were called to deal with the incident at the east end of the dock, with waste land to the side of it.

    No homes were evacuated and the leak was contained by about 04:20 this morning, the fire service says.
