    A government report on the cyber attacks which hit hospitals in East Yorkshire and northern Lincolnshire earlier this year has found it could have been prevented if up-to-date IT security measures had been put in place.

    More than a third of trusts across the country were affected by the ransomware in May, according to the National Audit Office (NAO).

    It was the second cyber attack in a few months for Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust, which was also affected in November 2016.

    The report says NHS trusts were left vulnerable because cyber-security recommendations were not followed.

    The DJ and producer Goldie has been revealed as the presenter of the Turner Prize in Hull.

    The prestigious art prize will be awarded at an event at Hull Minster on Tuesday 5 December.

    The Ferens Art Gallery is currently hosting the works by the four shortlisted candidates.

    A shortage of NHS dentists in parts of East Yorkshire is forcing some people to travel miles for treatment, according to a local MP.

    The Beverley and Holderness MP Graham Stuart says the current level of service isn't good enough.

    NHS England says it is reviewing access to dentists in the area.

    Lloyds Pharmacy, which has branches in East Yorkshire, Hull, Scunthorpe and Grimsby, says it will be shutting 190 of its stores across the country.

    The company which owns the pharmacy chain, Celesio UK, says it is the result of recent cuts by NHS England.

    It hasn't yet announced which stores will be closing, but says staff are being told today.

  13. More police officers promised for Bridlingtonpublished at 17:09 British Summer Time 26 October 2017

    People in Bridlington are being promised more police officers.

    The new Area Commander for Hull and East Riding, Chief Superintendent Phil Ward has told BBC Radio Humberside that he is hoping to increase the number of officers working in the resort by a third over the next 10 months.

    He said that Bridlington is the second busiest policing area on the north bank, after Myton in Hull.

  14. Council leader welcomes Queen's planned visit to Hullpublished at 16:37 British Summer Time 26 October 2017

    The leader of Hull City Council, Stephen Brady is welcoming news of a royal visit on Thursday 16 November.

  15. Firework put through letterbox on Hull estatepublished at 16:00 British Summer Time 26 October 2017

    A firework was put through the letterbox of a house and stones were thrown at cars during a night of disorder in part of Hull,.

    Humberside Police say they have increased patrols in the Homethorpe area of the city, after receiving a number of calls about antisocial behaviour last night.

  16. The Queen is to visit Hull in City of Culture yearpublished at 15:37 British Summer Time 26 October 2017

    So we heard earlier that Her Majesty the Queen will visit Hull, in its year as UK City of Culture.

    Her last visit to the city was in 2009, when she came to Hull with the Duke of Edinburgh.

    Primary school children in East Yorkshire are being given the flu vaccine to stop them spreading infection.

    Pupils at Hornsea Primary were immunised with a nasal spray this morning.

    It's hoped the vaccine won't just protect the children, but their more vulnerable family members too.

    A fundraising page set up for two brothers who were hit by a van in Cleethorpes has raised hundreds of pounds.

    Sonny Madsen, 11, and his brother Bobby, 12, were both badly injured in the crash on St Peter's Avenue on Saturday morning.

    It was Sonny's 11th birthday.

    Both boys are now recovering at home.

    An online fundraising page to pay for a holiday for the boys has so far raised more than £700.

    Collette Davidson, the boys' mother said: "[They] are the most caring and thoughtful lads I have ever met. The money will be given to the boys to enjoy a little holiday as soon as they feel better."

    Drax Power Station near Goole is consulting on plans to become a partly gas-powered site.

    Drax wants to start generating electricity using gas by upgrading two of its coal-fired units.
