Inspectors went to The Elms in Sutton, East Hull, last month and said they were worried about safety and cleanliness.

Among the findings of the report was that faeces were found smeared in several places around the building.

A joint police and safeguarding investigation is currently under way into the management of medicines at the home, the report adds.

Police and experts say those reports are just the tip of the iceberg.

The chairman of the Digital Policing Board, which deals with digital crime nationally, says social network providers should do more to protect online users.

The shadow transport minister owns an electric car himself and told the Commons last night that Hull didn't have enough of them.

Though he pointed out that the car needed to be charged every 50 miles or so, which meant it would take him five days to drive to Westminster from his home in Hull.

    Quote Message

There are more charging points available, for example, in the Orkney Islands than in Blackpool, Grimsby and my own fair city of Hull combined."

    Laura Foster
    Reporter, BBC Look North

A decision to arm prison officers with an "incapacitant" spray has received mixed reactions today.

    SprayImage source, Humberside Police

Hull prison is part of a government trial aiming to make jails safer, but the Howard League for Penal Reform believes using the pepper-like spray will only add to the violence.

This is what you've been telling us on Facebook:

    Quote Message

Of course it's a good idea. Try being a prison officer, you will see how dangerous it can be. I know I was a custody officer for 12 years."

    John Peter Street, Facebook

    Quote Message

No, it's not a good idea. Why hurt them? It will make a person more angry."

    Louisa Mackenzie, Facebook

    Quote Message

I'm surprised they don't have something like this already to protect themselves and others."

We are not sure exactly how old he was but it is thought he was at least five years older than the average lifespan for his species.

George has been living in the Pearson Park Victorian Conservatory since December 2005 when he was donated by someone who no longer had enough space for him and has been a popular attraction ever since.

    Quote Message

We are really saddened to have lost George. He had a remarkable life, everyone adored him and he was a real asset for Pearson Park. His long-term partner, Mildred, remains in Pearson Park."

    Clare Crooks
    BBC Local Live, Hull

There's been a mixed reaction to the news that Hull City Council has agreed to spend £5m to clear the empty Edwin Davis and BHS department stores site in the city centre.

Aerial view of the siteImage source, Hull City Council

The buildings are to be demolished to make way for a potential new ice arena, houses and shops.

Here's what some of you have been telling us about the multi-million pound plans:

    Quote Message

We already have an ice arena, why can’t we have a new speedway track for the Vikings!!"

    Chris Moore, Facebook

    Quote Message

Good to see the council taking the initiative on this development: Other areas of the city are recovering, this should too."

    Derek Wade, Facebook

    Quote Message

What a ridiculous idea to put 'leisure facilities' in the city centre! People who want to use an ice rink need to be able to park. The idea of encouraging MORE traffic into the centre is ludicrous. Or do they expect people to use public transport......haha."

    Lianne Smith, Facebook

    Quote Message

What a great idea. I am sure in the overall scheme parking will be sorted, a new and modern ice arena will draw in more people because it will be in a better position, also new restaurants will give people more choice which is a good thing."
