    Hull has been named the ‘Best Creative Destination for 2017' at an awards ceremony.

    The Creative Tourism Network identified Hull as the top creative destination alongside the Aegean Islands of Greece.

    The city beat 200 other candidates to win the award.

    A North Lincolnshire mum is calling on better changing facilities for disabled children.

    Changing Places campaigner, Lorna Fillingham has a seven-year-old daughter who uses a wheelchair and needs additional support when using public toilets.

    Lorna says the lack of proper facilities leaves children in degrading situations.

    She wants the law to be changed to ensure that all new retail and leisure developments include fully accessible changing toilets.

    A street in Hull is the subject of a BBC series about The Blitz on TV tonight

    National Picture Theatre

    The National Picture Theatre on Beverley Road, pictured above, was hit during a raid on the nearby docks in March 1941 and a reminder of the effects of the Blitz on the city.

    'The bombs that changed Britain' is a documentary series examining the impact of four individual bombs during The Blitz in World War Two.

    Tonight's episode focuses on how a bomb that fell on 6th Avenue in Hull affected the lives of the people living there.

    The programme's on BBC Two at 21:00.

    Police are looking for the driver of a blue vehicle involved in a seven-car crash in Hull last night.

    The driver, who failed to stop after the incident, failed to stop when seven cars were damaged on Hedon Road last night.

    Humberside Police, external were called to the incident at 20:00.

    The collision involved a white BMW sport, red VW Golf, red Vauxhall Zafira, white Mercedes Sprinter van, white VW Transporter, black Fiat Punto.

    Two people suffered minor injuries as a result of the accident.

    Anyone who witnessed the collision or has information about the driver of the car that left the scene should contact the police on 101 quoting log 395 29/11/17.

    Meet baby Jasper Glenton. He will feature as baby Jesus in this year's Hull Live Nativity, external.

    As part of the live Nativity real camels will return to the streets of Hull.

    The event, which is being organised by Hull Minster, hopes to bring together a 300-strong choir made up of local people.

    The live Nativity will take place in Hull city centre from 13:00 BST on Saturday, 16 December.

    A yellow weather warning is in place for snow in parts of East Yorkshire.

    Occasional heavy and wintry showers are expected throughout this afternoon and evening.

    Up to 5cm of snow may accumulate on ground above 100m.

    More than 21kg of drugs have been found in an East Yorkshire prison in 18 months, it has emerged.

    New figures obtained by BBC Radio Humberside show the amount of drugs found at HMP Humber in the 18 months.

    The Prison Officers' Association says staff shortages are to blame for the "serious issues" at HMP Humber, near North Cave.

    The government says steps have been taken to stem the flow of drugs including new CCTV, better fences and a more robust testing scheme.

    The government also says an extra 2,500 front-line officers are to be employed in the near future.

    There are concerns about the future funding of a service for women expecting a baby and new mothers in Hull.

    Hull City Council is looking at saving money and it could mean Hull Doula and breastfeeding peer support service is affected.

    Linda Brownlie who is from the breast feeding project says any cuts could have a wider impact on services.

    Building work for a new hedgehog hospital based near Scunthorpe will begin this morning.

    The hospital will cost about £350,000 and claims to be the only one of its kind in northern Lincolnshire.

    The owners are hoping it will help save the falling population of hedgehogs in our area.

    Frank Pett is the owner of Andrew's Hedgehog Hospital and says it will take about a year to build.

    A "significant philanthropist" is needed to fund the rescue of a World War One trawler in the South Atlantic, said the trust set up to save it.

    The Viola is rusting on South Georgia 7,750 miles (12,500 km) away from its home port of Hull, East Yorkshire.

    The Viola Trust said £3.5m was needed to rescue a vessel that had been on the "frontline of the Great War".
