An independent public inquiry has begun into child abuse within the Catholic church.
The Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse, headed by Alexis Jay, is aiming to scrutinise public bodies for child safety failings and the Roman Catholic Church is one of 13 public organisations being scrutinised.
Almost 250 men who say they suffered abuse at the St Williams Catholic-run children's home in Market Weighton between 1970 and 1991, are seeking compensation from the church and the De la Salle lay order.
The inquiry is investigating the relationship between the church and lay orders like the De la Salle, and how that impacts on child protection.
A campaign linking so-called "pre-loading" - drinking alcohol before going on a night out and drinking more, external - to violence and risk-taking behaviour has been launched by North East Lincolnshire Council.
Statistics show that about half of all crime committed in North East Lincolnshire is linked to alcohol, according to the authority.
The culture of drinking alcohol before going on a night out is "rapidly" becoming more common as prices of alcohol rise at licensed venues, the council adds as it asks people to drink more responsibly.
But consultant to the pub trade Michael Kheng says people who enjoy "pre-loading" are unlikely to take much notice:
A plan designed to stop people painting Victorian buildings north of Bridlington harbour in bright colours has been backed by councillors.
The initiative is designed to re-create the elegant Victorian atmosphere that once prevailed in the area.
East Riding of Yorkshire Council said some buildings in Bridlington's Quay Conservation Area "wreak damage on the street scene far beyond where the paint has been applied".
There will now be a period of consultation before the scheme is implemented.

Allegations included smacking a colleague's bottom, asking another to "wear something sexy" and on various occasions trying to hold a colleague's hand.
Quote MessageThe panel was of the view that he had abused his position as a senior member of staff and engaged in sexually motivated behaviour towards members of staff who were unlikely to make a complaint against him."
