    The annual event will take place next year over four days from 3-6 May and also feature a two-day women's race.

    The race includes routes from Beverley to Doncaster, Barnsley to Ilkley and Richmond to Scarborough.

    The final stage will start in Halifax and finish in the centre of Leeds.

    Barton-upon-Humber's historic Ropewalk building will be officially transferred to new owners today.

    The arts and live music venue has been bought by the Waterside Artists' Co-operative after the group won a £100,000 grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund.

    The group, which has been running the centre since 2000, says it secures the future of the Grade II-listed building.

    More than 120,000 workers have had to choose between two new pension plans.

    There had been calls to put the deadline back over concerns about poor financial advice and tight deadlines.

    An investigation in to the cause of a house fire which left one person dead is under way.

    Fire crews were sent to the fire which started in the living room of a property on Baroness Road yesterday afternoon.

    No details about the victim have been disclosed by the fire service.

    Flood defences along the Humber are to get a £42m upgrade.

    The improvements will be along the side of the estuary in Hull, as well as either side of the city at Hessle and Paull.

    The Environment Agency says it will provide extra protection for more than 100,000 properties.

    Work is planned to start next summer and be completed by 2020, subject to planning permission

    Norfolk Police want help to identify two men following a theft in Burgh Castle, near Great Yarmouth.

    Two deactivated firearms were stolen from a display inside The Queens Head pub on Saturday 28 October.

    It’s believed the men may have travelled out of the county and could be in the Lancashire, Manchester or Yorkshire areas.

    Anyone with information should contact PC Richard Bennett at Great Yarmouth Police Station on 101.

    The A63 is going to remain closed until at least 1800 this evening.

    Structural engineers will not complete their investigations on a bridge until 1800, it's after the bridge was struck by a crane earlier today.

    The Hornsea Coastguard crew was called out last night to help a 65-year-old man off the beach who wasn't feeling well.

    He was suffering from neck and back pain.

    Yorkshire Ambulance Service and Humberside Fire and Rescue crews were also at the scene, near Longbeach car park, at about 20:00:

    Congestion is building along the A63 after it was closed in both directions between South Cave and Brough.

    Structural engineers are assessing if a bridge, which was struck earlier, is safe. If it is then the road can reopen.

    The A63 is completely closed in both directions and structural engineers are on the scene to see if the bridge is safe.

    The road wont re-open until the structural engineers give it the all clear.

  17. Three fire engines at house fire in Grimsbypublished at 16:22 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2017

    Humberside Fire and Rescue Service are currently attending a house fire on Baroness Road in Grimsby.

    They were called at 15:36 after smoke was seen coming out of a window.

    Three fire engines arrived within six minutes.

    It's unclear at this stage what's the cause of the fire and if anyone was in the house, firefighters are still at the scene.

    Several heavy goods vehicles were involved in a crash earlier this morning on the A180 near Ulceby.

    The incident happened around 08:00 this morning and the A180 westbound now has one lane open.

    Humberside Police say the second lane of both the eastbound and westbound carriageways will remain closed from the A160 to Barnetby Top until the central reservation barrier can be repaired overnight.

    It's unclear when, or if, the A63 will be able to re-open today.

    The road has been closed in both directions between South Cave and Brough following damage to two overhead bridges.

    Humberside Police say the structural engineers will carry out a full assessment of the bridge and then they will be able to advise if the A63 can re-open.

    Both carriageways are now closed on the A63 between South Cave and Brough following damage to two overhead bridges.

    Humber Roads Police say they're awaiting a structural engineer to assess the damage to a bridge.
