    Police in the area have visited more than 200 addresses in an attempt to catch-up with people they suspect of committing crimes.

    The force has arrested 71 people across the region.

    Officers paid visits to 201 properties from the start of December.

    The force is urging anyone wanted by them to come forward, external before they find them.

    While some are looking to their pensions others are just starting their careers in the steel industry.

    British Steel in Scunthorpe is continuing to recruit more manufacturing trainees.

    Sixty new workers joined the factory this month with another 64 expected to start in January.

    Toys R Us must put £9m into its pension fund by Thursday 21 December or face having a restructuring plan rejected.

    Earlier this month the company said it would close at least 26 UK stores, including the one in Scunthorpe.

    The Pensions Protection Fund says the firm must pay the cash before it can agree a deal that would prevent 3,200 job loses.

    People in Grimsby are being asked to try non-alcoholic beer - as part of an effort to reduce crime.

    Humberside Police say around half of all crime recorded in the town centre is alcohol related.

    As a nation we throw away more than seven million paper coffee cups every day.

    Most of them contain plastics and are destined to be buried in the ground or burned in incinerators.

    MPs are calling for a "comprehensive strategy" to boost the steel sector ahead of Brexit.

    They want ministers to cut energy costs, prevent imports of cheap steel and promote the use of UK steel for major projects.

    British Steel in Scunthorpe used to be owned by Tata Steel who had their main research and development centre in Rotherham.

    Ten-year-old Jools from East Yorkshire (pictured) has raised hundreds of pounds for charity by getting his head shaved on his birthday.

    People from North and South Cave have been fundraising for Mitchell Davies who wants to buy a wheelchair that will enable him to move about more easily.

    This is the moment Jools revealed his new haircut to Mitchell!

    There are more fundraising events planned for next year but it is hoped Mitchell will get the new wheelchair in time for his 21st birthday.

    The deadline for British Steel workers in Scunthorpe to make a decision about the future of their pension will not be extended.

    It has been confirmed that former and current staff have until this Friday to choose between two new pension plans.

    There were calls to put the deadline back over concerns about tight timescales and poor financial advice.

    A man attempted to rob a shop in Grimsby last night.

    He threatened staff at the Lifestyle express store on Weelsby Street around 19:00 and demanded money but left with nothing.

    Armed officers were called to the scene as a matter of precaution.

    On leaving the shop the suspect was nearly hit in the road by a white Ford Transit van and officers would like to speak to that witness, external.

    A protest will be held by campaigners unhappy about plans to close East Yorkshire minor injury units.

    East Riding's Clinical Commissioning Group is meeting today over proposals to shut Hornsea Cottage Hospital and downgrade Driffield and Withernsea.

    The government has said it won't intervene and will leave local health officials to decide how to provide health services in the area.

    The East Riding CCG said they couldn't comment before today's meeting but they have always maintained their proposals offer an improved urgent care provision across the area.

    It is highly contagious and has affected patients on wards 70 and 90.
