    Hull's new venue will be called the Bonus Arena, it's been confirmed.

    The £36m venue will open next month with singer-songwriter Van Morrison performing at the official opening.

    Local acts supported by BBC Introducing on Radio Humberside will also perform at the event.

    A mother from Hull says she'll keep her two sons away from their school after they were put into isolation because of their haircuts.

    Terri-Lea Wilson says the boys, Leroy and TJ, have fallen foul of the uniform policy at Kingswood Academy.

    Mrs Wilson met with the school but she says she's still not happy:

    Kingswood Academy says the majority of its 804 students meet its expectations consistently.

    It added the school was judged as 'Good' in its latest Ofsted inspection, which commented how students were proud of the school and their uniform.

    Hull North MP Diana Johnson is calling for a parliamentary debate after her local radio station broadcast a story about anti social behaviour.

    The MP told the Commons cuts to services might well have resulted in the kind of problems being experienced by her constituents.

    She also said she didn't believe the problem was unique to Hull.

    A second man has been charged with murder after the death of a Lithuanian man in Hull.

    Rolandas Poskus, 52, was found dead on Dane Park Road on Friday.

    Stanisolvas Bozys, 28, of Gordon Street in Hull, is due to appear at Hull Magistrates' Court this morning.

    Mantas Pundzius, 23, of Thornwick Close in Hull, also charged with murder, is to make his first appearance at Sheffield Crown Court later.

    He appeared before magistrates on Thursday morning and was remanded in custody.

    Two women who were also arrested have been released.

    Almost £11bn worth of goods went through ports in North East Lincolnshire last year, according to new government figures.

    Consultants could be brought in by Hull City Council to help expose failures by rail companies which serve the area and to draw up a better plan to lobby government.

    A motion brought forward by Hull Conservative councillor John Fareham was passed today at a council meeting.

    The council wants to work with the Hull and Humber Chamer of Commerce, the Humber Local Enterprise Partnership and East Riding Council to fund the project.

    Anglers and commercial fishermen in Yorkshire are being warned about an invasive species of salmon in UK waters.

    The alert, from the Environment Agency, external, comes after a commercial angler caught one of the fish near the River Tyne earlier this month.

    The pink salmon originates from the northern Pacific Ocean, but now there's now a warning about the dangers of the species to native fish.

    If anyone catches a pink salmon, they're being asked to immediately get in touch with the Environment Agency.

    A temporary operator could be in place to run Hull's Walton Street Market in the next few days, it's emerged.

    The market stopped operating earlier this month after Town and Country Markets, which ran it, ceased trading because of financial problems.

    However, it could be a couple of months before a long-term operator is found, Hull City Council says.

    Police say they're worried for the welfare of Airon Taylor, 15, from Grimsby who has been missing for five days.

    Airon has had contact with his family over the phone since, and there was an unconfirmed sighting of him at the Asda on Holles Street in Grimsby yesterday.

    However, Humberside Police say they want to know he's safe.

    Anyone with information about his whereabouts is being asked to get in touch with police.

    There's already been interest from several parties considering buying Hull's House of Fraser building when the store closes, according to the city council.

    Earlier this month it was announced that House of Fraser would close 31 of its 59 stores.

    The building in Hull is owned by a Middle Eastern investor.

    The council is trying to convince other companies in the House of Fraser building to stay in the city.

    A Grimsby seafood factory has lost a £30m contract with the supermarket Asda.

    Young's Seafood says it's "disappointed" to have lost the contract, but the supermarket "remains an important customer".

    Young's adds that it has recently won contracts with other retailers.

    Asda has told the BBC that Young's "continues to be a significant partner" for the company.
