    Simon Brown, who was shot during the Iraq War, left his 16 glass eyes worth £2,000 on a train from Leeds to London.

    The Tupperware box contained various designs including a Yorkshire white rose, Union Jack flag and a dart board.

    The 39-year-old from Morley said the offer by Leeds-based specialist Paul Bartlett was "incredibly kind".

    A six-week consultation's begun on the area's local plan - which includes proposals for up to 3,000 new homes at Green Hammerton.

    This is the latest public consultation and people are being asked to simply say whether they support the Local Plan or not.

    Their answers will go to the independent planning inspector who will then consider the proposals for development of homes and employment in the Harrogate borough over the next 20 years.

    Nearly 2,000 people in Pontefract were left without electricity this week after metal thieves cut down two wooden poles carrying 11,000 volt power lines.

    A reward is being offered to catch the people who did it.

    It happened in the early hours of Tuesday morning and the thieves have been described as "reckless" and having "showed complete disregard for the danger".

    Northern Powergrid say they're offering a reward of £1,000 for information that could lead to the arrest and charge of the people responsible.

    Ian Holmes from Northern Powergrid, said: "The thieves realised, once the network had been grounded, that the power lines were not copper, and abandoned the scene leaving our power lines on the ground."
