    Most days last week, because of the wintry weather, we started with pictures featuring blankets of the white stuff covering rolling Yorkshire hills.

    We're being told the weather is going to be a little milder this week and so, that being the case, I thought we'd start with a ball of blazing fire, an ice melter, in fact, rising serenely into a South Yorkshire sky:
