The vicar of a church in south Leeds says it's "frustrating" to be targeted by thieves for the third time in four years - this time flag stones have been taken from outside the front door.
In 2014 St John the Evangelist in Oulton was hit by lead thieves who took the metal from the roof, causing more than £1m of damage when it rained.
They struck again a few weeks ago taking the lightning conductor from the roof and in the last 48-hours they returned to take the flag stones from the porch area of the church.
Fly-tippers also struck at the church last summer, leaving behind asbestos which the church had to pay for to be cleaned away safely.
Rev Sarah Hancox, vicar at St John the Evangelist says the church has been closed since the lead theft and is grateful to the Heritage Lottery fund who gave them money for the repairs.
Quote MessageIt's so frustrating to be targeted again, we hope the community come together like they did when the lead on the roof was stolen."
