    Police in Doncaster say they want to speak to this man after armed robbers broke into a woman's house and threatened her children with a knife.

    It happened one morning last month at their home in Highbury Avenue in Cantley when the woman in her 30s was with her children inside the house.

    Three masked men carrying knives broke in, demanded cash and threatened to hurt the children.

    They then assaulted the woman and took her necklace, leaving her with minor injuries.

    Anyone with information is asked to call South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 332 of 22 January.

    Barnsley Council has approved a scheme for four areas of the borough in an effort to lift the quality of rental accommodation.

    It'll mean new regulations, external in parts of Elsecar, Goldthorpe, Measborough Dyke and Wombwell.

    The scheme focuses on reducing bad behaviour and driving up standards of properties.

    Castleford Tigers have dismissed full-back Zak Hardaker after he tested positive for cocaine in the lead up to October's Super League Grand Final.

    The Tigers suspended the 26-year-old England international prior to the defeat by Leeds Rhinos at Old Trafford.

    His failed test followed a previous game against Leeds on 8 September and he could face a two-year ban.

    The club said they "will comment on this matter further when UK Anti-Doping conclude their case".

    The Vice-Chancellor of Sheffield Hallam University has been telling MPs today that the government should be giving more attention to student living costs.

    On Monday, the Prime Minister launched a review of university funding, admitting that England has some of the highest tuition costs in the world.

    But Professor Chris Husbands told the Commons Education Committee that tuition fees are not the biggest worry for most students.

    A man has been stabbed in Huddersfield this afternoon - police have made an arrest.

    It happened at a house on Royd Street in Slaithwaite at 13:55.

    The 47-year-old man was taken to hospital with what are described as minor arm and chest injuries.

    A 42-year-old man has been arrested and taken into custody.

    A police crime scene is in place and an investigation is under way.

    Police say they're becoming increasingly concerned for her welfare.

    They add that it's also extremely out of character for Nicolette not to contact her family.

    Officers think he could be in Leeds area with a woman and are asking anyone who sees him to call 999.

    The RSPCA says it's delighted a dog found staggering round a field in a state of starvation in Doncaster is on the mend.

    Lurcher Ollie weighed just half the normal weight for a dog of his age and type and the charity says every bone in his body could be seen.

    It's so far been unable to find out how he came to be in such a state.

    After being given round-the-clock care by the RSPCA, Ollie was placed in a foster home and he's ended up staying there.

    An entire part of Bradford has won a lottery.

    The £3m prize from the People's Postcode Lottery will be shared among players who bought a ticket in BD7 4.

    They're being asked to attend a meeting next month to find out exactly how much they've won.

    People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Judie McCourt will be presenting cheques to the winners, she said "Congratulations to everyone in BD7 4 and good luck!”

    Urgent action must be taken by Leeds council to stop ram-raiders targeting city shops, businesses have said.

    There have been five such attacks on premises in the city centre over the last 10 months, with the latest at the Rolex watch shop on Sunday.

    Its manager Andrew Duffy said it was paramount the council acted because someone could have been killed.

    The council said barriers were up to stop large vehicles and it was looking at measures to restrict smaller ones.

    A man has died after being hit by a car on the Sheffield Parkway.
