    The firm behind Sheffield's Supertram says it's on course to get the planned tram-trains linking Sheffield and Rotherham to be fully operational in the autumn.

    Testing of the new vehicles is already under way on the route, according to Supertram.

    The tram-train service was supposed to be up and running two years ago and costs have spiralled from £15m to £75m.

    An "extensive" trawl of CCTV footage is under way following a "targeted" shooting in Sheffield earlier this week.

    A 29-year-old man was left with a gunshot wound to his leg after the incident on Chadwick Road at about 11:00 on Tuesday morning.

    Police say they are looking for two or three men in connection with the shooting and have reassured local residents that incidents like this "remain relatively rare".

    Det Insp Emma Knight says: "We are speaking face-to-face with the local community, to establish the full facts and trace the attackers.

    "We strongly believe that there are witnesses to this incident who are reluctant to speak to our officers, but this does not prevent them submitting information which could prove vital."

    A new "no cold-calling zone" has been set up in Kirbymoorside, North Yorkshire, in a bid to try and protect residents.

    North Yorkshire Police and the county's Trading Standards team hopes the new zone will discourage doorstep selling and reduce incidents of rogue traders.

    Signs have gone up in Ryedale View and Ryedale Crescent.

    Police Community Support Officer Tracy Brown came up with the idea after several residents complained about rogue traders in the area.

    Local resident Michael Bell, who's been targeted by doorstep sellers, says he's relieved that the zone has been set up as it will make the street feel safer.

    A teenager accused of planning a Columbine-style mass shooting in North Yorkshire was seen carrying a large knife in public, a court has heard.

    The boy fled his ex-girlfriend's home with a blade so long it was "nearly touching his ankles", her mother said.

    Giving evidence at Leeds Crown Court, she described the boy as "devious and primitive".

    The teenager, now aged 15, is one of two boys who deny hatching a plot to recreate the US school massacre.

    Both are accused of conspiring to murder pupils at a school in Northallerton in June last year.

    The Terriers produced a defensive masterclass to secure the point they needed to stay up and celebrated wildly with their travelling fans after the final whistle.

    Huddersfield supporters chanted "We are staying up" as manager David Wagner was given the bumps by his players on the pitch.

    After the visitors linked arms and clapped their fans, Wagner said his team would be celebrating all the way back to Huddersfield.

    "We have cancelled the flight and will go home by coach," he said.
