    Experts believe the blasters were made for The Empire Strikes Back (1980), but that the base of the guns were used in A New Hope (1977).

    If the appeal in successful then the blasters would join the museum's permanent collections and go on display in Leeds.

    The refurbishment of the historic Piece Hall in Halifax has been recognised at a national architecture awards ceremony.

    The UK's only surviving 18th Century cloth trading centre re-opened last August after a £19m restoration.

    It was built in 1779 as a trading centre for handloom weavers selling "pieces" of locally made cloth.

    The refurbishment work has been praised by the Royal Institute of British Architects.

    Multi-million pound rail works mean Bradford Interchange will be out of action this weekend.

    Network rail says the work - to replace parts of track and signals - will take place over Saturday and Sunday.

    Rail replacement bus services will run between the station and Halifax.

    Police are questioning a 15-year-old boy on suspicion of the murder of another teenager in Sheffield last night.

    The victim, who was also 15, died in hospital after being stabbed at about 20:00 on Thursday on Lowedges Road.

    Police have been at the scene since with several cordons in place.

    There'll be an increased police presence in the area today and into the weekend, police say.

    The cordon on Lowedges Road is expected to remain in place until early evening.

    Almost 4,000 reports of fly-tipping were made in the Wakefield area in 2017 and it cost £200,000 to clear it all up, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service.

    Wakefield Council was forced to remove dumped white goods, furniture and waste from all over the district.

    The numbers, obtained from a Freedom of Information request, showed an average of more than 10 reports of fly-tipping every day.

    Tributes are being paid to Sheffield's Brendan Ingle MBE, one of the world's most charismatic boxing trainers, who's died aged 77.

    Over the decades, Ingle nurtured talent at his Sheffield gym which would yield four world champions and change many lives.

    An owner of a well-known furniture store in Mytholmroyd devastated by floods two and a half years ago says it has been a "long, hard battle" to reopen.

    The town suffered severe flooding in December 2015 when the River Calder burst its banks on Boxing Day.

    Russell Dean's stock was ruined and the shop has now been rebuilt on stilts, making the first floor 3m above ground level, to protect it from future flooding.

    The officer in charge of the investigation into the fatal stabbing of a 15-year-old boy in Sheffield says he can't imagine what the boy's family are going through.

    North Yorkshire Police officers say "various scribbles and words", including offensive language, have been daubed over two bridges in Boroughbridge over the past three to four weeks.

    They say they're concerned people are crossing exposed girders to reach the underneath of the bridges.
