    Police are trying to establish the identity of a man whose body was found in the Allerton area of Bradford.

    Officers were called to a beck off Cottingley Road on Monday when the body was discovered.

    The death is not considered to be suspicious.

    Police have been talking to the family of 54-year-old James Huby who was reported missing last month.

    A kitten had to be rescued after falling from the roof of a pub in Rotherham and getting trapped in the space between two buildings.

    Staff at the Mail Coach pub on Wellgate Street became aware the kitten was trapped when the heard him crying.

    The operation to rescue "Turpin", involving the fire service and RSPCA, lasted more than two hours.

    His rescuers lowered down a pole with a hook on the end and Turpin climbed onto it.

    Three new strike dates have been announced by RMT workers on Northern trains.

    In a long-running dispute, members of the RMT union argue passenger safety would be put at risk by scrapping the role of guards, which the company denies.

    The workers will walkout for 24 hours on 19, 21 and 23 June.

    It comes as Northern has been mired with problems in its timetables leaving many passengers in Yorkshire dealing with long delays to their journeys.

    A council is willing to send its citizens to jail over the Sheffield tree protests, a court has heard.

    The council has taken four protesters to the High Court in Sheffield.

    Paul Brooke, Simon Crump, Benoit Compin and Fran Grace are all said to have breached a council injunction, imposed last July, by obstructing tree-felling.

    Mr Justice Males stopped a hearing at the High Court in Sheffield to ask if the jail threat was supported by the council leader.

    "This is a serious application," Mr Justice Males said.

    "The council is seeking to commit Sheffield citizens to prison for contempt.

    "I would like to be reassured that this application is brought on the instructions of democratically elected councillors."

    The council's barrister Yasser Vanderman said he had spoken to a senior council official who said he had spoken to Councillor Julie Dore.

    "She positively agreed that proceedings should be brought," Mr Vanderman told the court.

    The tree-felling programme is part of Sheffield's £2bn 25-year Streets Ahead, external project to repair the city's roads but is currently paused.

    Thousands of trees, assessed by Amey as dead, dying, diseased, damaging or dangerous, have been cut down.

    Campaigners say healthy trees have also been lost and many are being felled because they are simply in way of resurfacing methods.

    The hearing is expected to last for three days.

    There are more than eight miles of queues on the M62 after four lorries crashed between junctions 29 and 30 eastbound.

    One person is trapped and West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue say they are working to free them.

    The crash has completely closed the carriageway and traffic is building.

    People stuck in the queue have been seen getting out of their cars, according to reports from the scene.

    A man has appeared in court to face two charges of impersonating a health care professional at the TT festival.

    James Steven England, 53, was arrested "following a complaint from race organisers" on Saturday.

    The arrest was made by police at Glen Helen between the ninth and tenth milestones on the TT race circuit.

    Mr England did not enter a plea at Douglas Courthouse on Monday and was bailed to reappear on 19 June.

    An emergency weight limit's been introduced to protect a road bridge in the Yorkshire Dales.

    An inspection's found Winterburn Bridge has been damaged and the arch stone has moved.

    No vehicles weighing more than three tonnes will be able to use the bridge.

    It'll eventually have to be closed for twelve weeks for repairs.

    North Yorkshire County Council said the bridge would be monitored for any further movement until repairs can take place.

    Several vehicles have been involved in an accident on the M62 eastbound between junction 29 for the M1 and junction 30 at Oulton.

    The carriageway has been completely closed and is not expected to re-open fully before 1700.

    Police are asking drivers to avoid the area.

    The Home Office has rejected claims it's not doing enough to support the victims of child sexual abuse in Rotherham.

    A report for Rotherham Council, external, due to be discussed today, says some victims face a wait of up to six months for counselling.

    Rotherham Abuse Counselling Services had 131 victims or survivors waiting for counselling at the end of April.

    Rotherham Labour MP Sarah Champion has called on the government to act.

    "There's no point in blaming the council on this," she said.

    "Unless they have the money in place, they cannot commission these necessary services."

    The Home Office said the Department for Education had already agreed to provide additional funding of up to £2m to Rotherham’s children’s social care, over four years, because of the increase in referrals arising from abuse investigations.

    Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust, external has become one of the first NHS trusts in the North East of England to provide free wi-fi for patients and the public across all of its' sites.

    The trust, which provides mental health, primary care, community and specialist services in Hull, the East Riding and North Yorkshire, has spent £200,000 installing the service at more than 60 sites.

    Mental health units and Whitby Hospital are among the facilities to have benefited.

    It is exactly 25 years since the plight of the Holbeck Hall Hotel in Scarborough attracted worldwide attention as it slowly fell into the North Sea after a landslip.

    Its gradual toppling became the focus of worldwide interest in June 1993, as guests made a quick exit following the landslip which left the building perched perilously close to the edge.

    As the cliff near the hotel continued to collapse, parts of the building soon followed.

    The local, national and international media descended on the site to watch the cliff-top drama unfold and the hotel's owners could only look on as, bit by bit, it collapsed.

    The British Geological Survey estimated the landslip saw about one million tonnes of sandy clay fall into the sea.

    A new interactive online map, external by researchers at the University of Sheffield allows you to input your postcode and see how your area was affected by the last glacial cycle 22,000 years ago.

    At that time, a thick ice sheet covered Britain and Ireland, leaving behind landforms which have allowed researchers to piece together how the ice sheet grew, flowed and disappeared.

    Dr Jeremy Ely, a research associate on the BRITICE-CHRONO project, external, from the University of Sheffield, said: "We can see how it dammed rivers, creating large glacial lakes which covered Manchester, Doncaster and Peterborough."

    The project, funded by the Natural Environment Research Council, has seen researchers work for six years to model the build-up and retreat of the last British-Irish ice sheet.
