Fears for future of motorbike racing in North Yorkshirepublished at 06:30 British Summer Time 26 June 2018
The future of England's only motorcycle road circuit is uncertain after a race which has been a fixture on the Scarborough calendar since 1946 was cancelled due to safety concerns.
Several popular races, including the Cock O'The North meeting, have been cancelled at Oliver's Mount over safety concerns after two accidents at a meeting last year left 12 people injured.
Scarborough Borough Council says it's terminated the lease with the club running the events and is in talks with other organisations to secure the future of the circuit.
Guest houses in the town fear they will miss out on business from fans who visit the course.
