Scotland and Wales allow women to use the pills at home but in England they must be taken at a hospital or clinic.

Some dislike the rule because the effects can start within 30 minutes while they're travelling.

The Labour MP for Hull North, Diana Johnson, is one of 50 MPs who wrote to the Health Secretary, Matt Hancock, about this issue when he recently took up the role.

She said the rules need to change in England too to allow the tablets to be taken at home.

Ms Johnson says: "This is something that's already happening in Scotland and Wales and English women are not being afforded the same dignity, the same woman-centred healthcare that we all want to see for these women and we want him to do something about it.
