Councillor Douglas Johnson said he had raised the issue with Amey.

"There's been very poor progress. We can't say there's been none, but it's such a stop-start process that, as a result, the road is still closed off," said councillor Johnson.

Work has also been carried out to clean up areas hit by vandalism.

As well as using the existing CCTV cameras to monitor what’s happening in an area, the technology allows us to speak to people through speakers fitted to the cameras, warning them when their behaviour isn’t appropriate.
