Some buses were running more than an hour late due to too many cars trying to get to the Balloon Fiesta on the Knavesmire racecourse, according to City of York Council.

The council wrote on Twitter there were "severe delays" on roads heading towards the racecourse and bus company First York reported "major delays" on all services.

It's thought more than 30,000 people attended the event, which saw 50 balloons taking off from the city centre location.
