    A Bradford drug dealer has been jailed for life for stabbing to death a rival who had just robbed him in an alleyway.

    Tommy Ferris, 28, from London, was found fatally injured off Smannell Road, Andover in Hampshire, at about 01:00 on 13 April.

    Zandrae Smith, 21, from Bradford, West Yorkshire, had denied murder, claiming he killed Mr Ferris in self-defence.

    He was found guilty and ordered to serve at least 22 years in prison.

    The Health Secretary has agreed to visit Bridlington Hospital amid concerns about its future, according to the East Yorkshire MP Sir Greg Knight.

    The York Teaching Hospital NHS Trust is currently reviewing hospital services in both Bridlington and Scarborough, leading to fears that more services might be centralised at York Hospital.

    The site has lost several services including its maternity unit and acute medical care in the last decade.

    Sir Greg Knight invited Matt Hancock to visit Bridlington Hospital to try and persuade him that more services should be based there.

    A prolific burglar has been banned from York for three years and forbidden from entering non-public areas of any shop in England and Wales.

    Gemma Mitchell has been prohibited from entering York by a court after stealing wallets, purses, bank and credit cards from staff areas in 13 businesses.

    Mitchell, 24, admitted burglaries and fraud by false representation when she appeared at Sheffield Crown Court.

    She must now stay at a rehabilitation property in Scarborough for six months.

    A road remains closed following a fire at an outbuilding next to a church in Hull.

    Firefighters are damping down at the building belonging to St Wilfrid Church on the Boulevard.

    Humberside Fire and Rescue say they were called just before 13:00.

    Four pumps and 18 firefighters attended.

    The church has been unaffected by the blaze, which saw huge plumes of smoke cover the area.

    Calderdale Council is fending off around 1,000 phishing attacks every day, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service.

    A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman's body was found in Rotherham.

    Police were called this morning at 05:30 to a property on Wright Street in North Anston.

    A woman in her 30s was found dead at the house.

    The arrested man, believed to be in his 40s, remains in police custody.

    West Yorkshire Fire Service has released a video, taken on Monday, of a fire engine under attack by people throwing fireworks.

    The service said the actions were shocking.

    A 32-year-old man has been stabbed in Leeds this afternoon, he is currently in a stable condition.

    He told us that there has been an incident inside the Sainsbury’s on Royal Park Road, police are on the scene.

    There have been no further details on injuries or what exactly has happened.

    Two people wearing Scream masks attacked an elderly fast food delivery man in Whitby on Halloween night, according to North Yorkshire Police.

    Officers say the pair pulled the 73-year-old man to the ground and demanded his takings on Southend Gardens just before 21:00 on Wednesday.

    They left without taking anything.

    Humberside Fire and Rescue Service say four fire engines are at the scene trying to stop the fire spreading to the nearby St Wilfrid Catholic Church.

    Some farmers are struggling to decide which crops to grow next year because they don't know how many farm workers they will have at their disposal, it's been claimed.

    East Yorkshire farmer John Clappison, who employs up to 40 farm workers from EU countries each year, says it's a stressful situation.

    He says farmers need to make firm decisions on crops early in the new year.

    The government is still to announce what work permit rules will be in place for workers deemed to be unskilled.

    This weekend the Age UK Abbey Dash takes place in Leeds.

    Thousands of runners will be taking part in the 10km race, which starts in the city centre, goes up Kirkstall Road, and loops back again.

    There are a number of road closures which will be in place between 05:00 and 14:00 on Sunday.
