Here's someone testing their driving skills while wearing them:
Police say more than 100 drivers have been stopped in the city for either drink or drug-driving in under a fortnight.
Today a Leeds City Council roadshow is using beer goggles that people can try on to highlight the dangers of being intoxicated while behind the wheel.
The goggles have distorted lenses to show the wearer what can happen to their vision if they've had a drink and then drive.
West Yorkshire Police say: "Between 2013 and 2016 drink and drive collisions in Leeds increased from 32 to 49; of which the casualty rate increased from 57 to 77."
Police Sergeant Gary Roper, from the Roads Policing Unit said: “No one wants an officer on their doorstep telling them their loved one is never coming home, especially not due to a drink or drug driver."
The drink-drive awareness event began earlier and goes on until 14:30 at Lands Lane in the city centre.
The judge said the defendant's text messages recorded his activities in "explicit detail".

It's appeared at the side of Stoneferry Road, advising motorists of the closure of the Clough Road roundabout for resurfacing work.
MB Roche civil engineering are behind the sign, which has been shared on social media today.

The sign has been put out in addition to a more conventional notice advising that the roundabout will be closed for two nights for resurfacing work.
From tonight, there will be diversions in place between 1900 and 0700.
