Firefighters in Yorkshire are getting new state-of-the-art rescue equipment to cut people out of crashed cars.
The new battery operated "jaws of life" are in the process of being rolled out across South and West Yorkshire.
Emergency services in both of the regions joined forces to buy the equipment, which is made by a company in Wakefield.
Firefighter Steve Milner said: "It's a massive improvement from the hydraulic ones - it's less noisy so less traumatic for a casualty."
A Royal Navy warship is to be affiliated Scarborough to recognise the town's long-standing support for the military.
The Ministry of Defence says "cutting edge" destroyer HMS Duncan will make regular visits to the seaside town, which will host the national Armed Forces Day next year.
Defence secretary Gavin Williamson made the announcement during a trip to his birth place of Scarborough.
He said: "The ship’s new affiliation will not just honour this great town right across the world, but also pay tribute to thousands of Yorkshiremen and women who have served in armed forces."
