A Sheffield-based homeless charity says it's going to be a very busy 10 days in the city, as many mainstream services for homeless and vulnerable people are shut down.
The "pop-up" homeless charity Homeless and Rootless at Christmas (HARC, external) is providing food and entertainment for up to 100 homeless and vulnerable adults in Sheffield each day over the Christmas period.
Based at the Cathedral Archer Project, external, HARC trustee and volunteer Madeleine Thomas says: "As mainstream services close for the festive season, there are very few places for homeless people to find a hot meal."
She's praised the people who run the service saying: "HARC is an invaluable service dependent entirely on 300 volunteers. Without them it just wouldn't run."
Work on an old Quaker burial ground above Stannington in Sheffield has kicked off a multi-million pound lottery project in South Yorkshire.
It's called the Sheffield Lakeland Landscape Partnership and £3.4m is being spent on a range of projects to protect rural areas and make them more attractive for users.

A petrol station worker has been stabbed in the arm during a robbery at a Leeds petrol station.
The attack happened at the Euro Garages station on Wetherby Road at about 21:40 last night.
Three masked men arrived at the petrol station in a black BMW before threatening a worker, stabbing him in the arm with a pen and stealing cash from the safe.
Scratchcards and cigarettes were also stolen.
