    Detectives are continuing to question seven people arrested after a man was found dead in Leeds.

    A 30-year-old man was seriously injured during a fight on Robb Street, in Beeston, on Boxing Day morning and later died in hospital.

    West Yorkshire Police launched a murder investigation, arresting four men, aged between 29 and 32, and three women, aged between 26 and 32, who remain in custody.

    Officers are appealing for anyone who has any information about the disturbance, in the early hours of yesterday morning, to contact them.

  2. Driver and passenger injured in Stillington car crashpublished at 12:29 Greenwich Mean Time 27 December 2018

    A driver and his passenger were taken to hospital after a car crashed into a ditch in Stillington yesterday evening.

    Emergency services used cutting equipment to get into the Vauxhall Corsa, which was on its side next to the B1363.

    The driver injured his hands and the female passenger suffered a head injury, they were taken to hospital by ambulance.

    A pair of residents at a North Yorkshire care home were rescued from a broken down lift on Christmas Day.

    The emergency services used "casualty drag sheets" to rescue the pair, who were trapped on the ground floor of the home on White Point Road in Whitby.

  4. Pedestrian knocked off wing mirror before Harrogate gamepublished at 11:29 Greenwich Mean Time 27 December 2018

    A pedestrian knocked the wing mirror off a car following an "altercation" with the driver, just before Harrogate Town's match against Halifax yesterday.

    North Yorkshire Police are appealing for information after the small red hatchback was damaged on Wetherby Road on Boxing Day at about 15:00.

    The area was busy at the time because of the match and, although police do not believe the incident was linked to the football, witnesses are asked to come forward.

    Harrogate Town lost 2 - 1 after Halifax Town scored a late winner at the CNG Stadium (pictured) on Wetherby Road.

  5. Burglar who posed as police officer jailed for five yearspublished at 11:09 Greenwich Mean Time 27 December 2018

    A burglar who posed as a police officer to target "vulnerable victims" has been jailed for five years.

    South Yorkshire Police say John Carty, 24, posed as a plain clothes officer, showing a fake ID and claiming he was investigating fraud in order to get his hands on his victims' cash.

    Investigating officer Susannah Taylor said: "Carty preyed on vulnerable members of the community, using shameful tactics to intimidate and frighten his victims, before stealing large amounts of money."

    Carty, of no fixed address, was found guilty of burglary and attempted burglary following a trial.

  6. Road in Hull city centre closed because of 'loose bricks'published at 10:47 Greenwich Mean Time 27 December 2018

    A road in Hull has been closed while emergency services "secure loose bricks" near the city's Debenhams store.

    The Ferensway has been shut southbound between Portland Place and Margaret Moxon Way due to an "unsafe building".

    Humberside Fire and Rescue Service posted on Twitter to say crews were on the scene with the work expected to take up to 20 minutes:

    A teenage boy who went missing during the Boxing Day sales in Hull has been found safe, according to police.

    Humberside Police thanked members of the public who shared an appeal to find the 15-year-old boy.

    The boss of an international steel company, with plants in South Yorkshire, says the UK needs to do more to celebrate its manufacturing industry.

    The founder of Liberty Steel, which has plants in Rotherham and Stocksbridge, believes this will change after Britain leaves the European Union.

    Sanjeev Gupta said: "Whichever way Brexit evolves I think there will be a bit more focus on UK industry and that's what I'm hoping for.

    "I think UK industry has been neglected for too long, which is a travesty - we were the first industrial nation."

    A 75-year-old cyclist is in a serious condition in hospital after a collision with a 4x4 in Willerby on Boxing Day.

    The man suffered head, facial and internal injuries following the collision on Kingston Road, near the junction with Blackthorn Lane, at about 11:00.

    The driver of the white Mitsubishi Outlander was unhurt and Humberside Police are now appealing for information about the "serious road traffic accident".

    An investigation has been launched after a 23-year-old, who studied at the University of Leeds, was shot dead by police in Kenya.

    Carilton Maina died after returning to Kenya from West Yorkshire to see his family for Christmas, and a police watchdog has now launched an investigation.

    The National Police Service in Kenya has confirmed an investigation is underway after the former electronic engineering student was killed in Line Saba, Kibera, on 21 December.

    A West Yorkshire NHS trust has more than doubled some of its parking fees in the past year, new data suggests.

    Airedale NHS Foundation Trust charges £8 for a stay of four to 24 hours, up from £3.50 the year before.

    The trust, which runs Airedale Hospital near Keighley, charges £5 for a stay of two to four hours, up from £3.

    New data suggests that four in 10 NHS hospitals in England have increased car parking prices in the last year.

    A missing 15-year-old boy was last seen during the Boxing Day sales in Hull.

    Adam Delamere was at Kingswood Retail Park at about 14:00 but hasn't been seen since.
