1. Not fare: Northern charges £1m for one trip to Leedspublished at 13:59 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January 2019

A BBC Yorkshire journalist was left dumbfounded this morning when he was charged almost £1m for a single ticket from Bradford to Leeds.

Tim Iredale, who is BBC Yorkshire's political editor and who presents the BBC's Sunday Politics in Yorkshire, used an automatic machine at Bradford Forster Square Station and selected an off-peak day single to Leeds.

He raised what we could probably guess was a quizzical eyebrow when the ticket machine said it would cost £999,999.99:

Mr Bramley said: "We feel we can just move in and remove these breaches without needing to contact the plot owner due to the age of the plots."

Officials say the baby and children's areas are to be left alone.
