The developer wants to site 55 timber-clad lodges south of Brandesburton, with the local parish council objecting to the scheme on the grounds of what it says is over-development.

There are already three holiday parks close by and, in addition, this new one would lie too close to a former landfill site, according to the parish council.

But in a report, officials at County Hall say this new timber lodge scheme is of a suitable scale and is well screened, so the cumulative impact would be minimal.

They're recommending councillors approve the plans when they meet on Thursday.
