    Aaron Brunskill said residents came out onto the road at about 08:00 to find about 15 police cars and four ambulances on the scene.

    "The police weren't telling us anything. I know there's children there. There's unconfirmed reports about everything," said Mr Brunskill.

    During the incident, an Air Ambulance landed at Hartley Brook Primary Academy, which is adjacent to the road.

    A BBC reporter at the scene says the school wasn't involved in the incident, which police confirmed started after reports of concerns for safety at a property nearby.

    "Everyone said the first one out had to be resuscitated in the ambulance and it was a pretty serious incident. Everyone got took away in an ambulance," Mr Brunskill added.

    Police have confirmed it's not a shooting-related incident.

    What we do know is that six children were taken to hospital and two people were arrested as a result of the incident.

    We've spoken to people who live in the area who've told us there was an awful lot of police activity at about 07:30 this morning.

    Police cars and four ambulances were seen on Hartley Brook Road near to the school.

    At the moment, a sizeable police presence remains in the area and detectives are busy carrying out door-to-door inquiries.
