The future of a lorry park which has caused "major problems" for residents in a Doncaster village is to be discussed by councillors.

The lorry park, which is supposed to be a temporary measure, is used by HGVs waiting for entry into the Attero Recycling centre off Bankwood Lane in Rossington.

The firm had planning permission granted to double the size of the recycling plant along with the construction of a link road which would end lorry journeys through the Bankwood estate.

Residents have spoken in support of the scheme and say the lorry park has caused “major problems” with “putrid smells and dust”.

Despite the link road application being accepted last year, councillors on the planning committee could extend the temporary planning permission for the lorry park, which is meant to end on 11 June.

After the application was approved, the Environmental Agency told Doncaster Council the application was “deficient in a number of areas and required significant modification”.
