Bankfield Museum has a display of outfits and accessories from the show.
Lister was born in the West Yorkshire town in 1791 and is known for her coded diaries which told the story of her life and lesbian relationships.
The museum is close to Shibden Hall, where Lister lived and Gentleman Jack was filmed.
The on-loan costumes were worn by a range of the show's characters, including Lister, Ann Walker, maid Eugenie and the Queen of Denmark.
Included is the famous top hat worn by Suranne Jones in her portrayal of Lister, a businesswoman and traveller who was described as "the first modern lesbian".
A burst water main has closed a road in York.
It's happened on Walmgate in the city centre.
Yorkshire Water say: “We have a technician on site now assessing the situation and we are working with police and fire services who are also on site and assisting with the incident.”
Police in York are warning people water supplies in the area may be affected.

The body of 20-year-old Mohammed Feazan Ayaz (above) was found in Saffron Drive on 1 July.
Ejaz Haamed, 28, of Tower Road, Shipley, has been charged with murder and is due to appear at Bradford Magistrates' Court later today.
His arrest brings the number of people so far arrested or charged in relation to Mr Ayaz's death to 15.
Barnsley Women's FC has submitted plans for a £5m purpose-built stadium that it believes would be the first solely for women's football.
The club wants to create a £5m arena off Broadway in the town, funded by grants and individual investors.
Steve Maddock, the club's chief executive, said: "It's pretty exciting, I don't know any other development for a women's stadium in the UK."
The club was formed in 1982 and plays in the fourth tier of the game.
Mr Maddock said: "We've always piggy-backed on the men but this new ground would have a 2,500 capacity, double-tier stand.
The club says the arena would be designed with female-friendly changing and toilet facilities and would also be used for girls' football and community events.
If the planning application is granted by Barnsley Council, it is hoped the ground could be completed by the end of next year.

Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa could spend just 36 hours in Australia and miss the Championship side's pre-season game in Sydney completely.
Bielsa named a 16-man squad for the two-match trip, which starts against Manchester United in Perth on 17 July.
It is understood he wants to make sure the players in England are put through the same demanding pre-season schedule as their team-mates have already had.

A motorist has been arrested after a cyclist was killed in a crash with a car in York.
The cyclist, a 29-year-old local man, died at the scene of the crash at 01:00 on Stockton Lane near Heworth, said North Yorkshire Police.
A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by driving without due care and attention, said the force.
Police are asking for witnesses to the collision involving a black Toyota to get in touch.

Three of Yorkshire's finest have helped England's cricketers to World Cup glory.
Sheffield's Joe Root and Bradford's Jonny Bairstow and Adil Rashid were part of the England team which beat New Zealand to win the men's World Cup for the first time.
In an emotional and electric atmosphere at Lord's, both sides scored 241 in their 50 overs and were level on 15 when they batted for an extra over apiece.
It meant England were crowned world champions by virtue of having scored more boundary fours and sixes - 26 to New Zealand's 17 - in the entire match.
Joe Root, pictured above in the arms of a celebrating Bairstow, said:"Wow! What a day, what a tournament.
"Everyone has done everything asked of them - we have performed under pressure."
A man's been arrested after a pedestrian died when he was hit by a car in Leeds.
The 30-year-old local man died at the scene in Armley on Stanningley Road at its junction with Armley Grange Drive, at about 23:00 on Saturday night.
The car, a blue Skoda Fabia, was travelling away from the city towards the Stanningley bypass at the time, West Yorkshire Police said.
