The MP for Boston and Skegness, Matt Warman, says lessons have been learned from the tidal surge back in December 2013.

Thousands of homes along the River Haven in Boston were flooded when freak weather conditions caused the riverbanks to over-top.

He says planning this time has been more effective than it was three years ago. But people must take responsibility for themselves.

He said: "This is about people taking individual responsibility and it's about all the experts working as hard as they can.

"If someone came to my door and advised me I would certainly not be hesitating, that's a precautionary thing, there's no certainty, I would very much be taking the official advice at this stage."
