    A 30-year-old man has been jailed for 16 months after threatening to shoot a passer-by in a Lincolnshire village. 

    Lincoln Crown Court heard that Kye Robinson had followed a man in Billinghay after accusing him of "staring" at him outside the co-op store. 

    Armed officers and a helicopter were called to the scene in October last year. 

    Robinson, 30, from Victoria Street, admitted charges of threatening behaviour and driving while disqualified.

    All home tickets have now been sold for Lincoln City's FA Cup third round replay against Ipswich Town next week.

    Some fans had started queuing at Sincil Bank at 04:00 GMT this morning.

    The match will be televised on BBC One at 2005 GMT on Tuesday, 17 January.

    The A16 is still closed near Spalding following an incident involving a lorry carrying pigs. 

    The vehicle overturned at Cowbit this morning. It was on the way to the abattoir in Spalding. 

    A vet has been assessing the welfare of the animals but a small number of them had to be put down on the scene.

    We'll find out next week how a safety review is going of a road in North East Lincolnshire where a family of five died.

    Three years ago five members of the Cockburn family died in a crash on the A18 near Laceby just outside Grimsby. 

    The safety review into the road was commissioned after an inquest into their deaths and a series of inspections were carried out last August.

    The stretch of the road under review is between the junction with the A46 Laceby roundabout and the county boundary to the south. 

    Next week cabinet members will consider the independent report into the feasibility of bringing that stretch of the A18 to the standard of a modern A road and also how the road could be made safer.

    A man's bike was stolen while he was suffering a seizure in Lincoln yesterday afternoon.

    It happened at the junction with Tentercroft Street and High Street at about 17:30 on Monday.

    When the rider recovered, he realised his bike was missing. 

    The bike, a Carrera Vulcan, is described as "very distinctive" with orange and yellow stripes.

  6. 'Opportunities missed' to help Poppy Widdisonpublished at 14:07 Greenwich Mean Time 11 January 2017

    North East Lincolnshire Council has admitted that it missed opportunities to protect a four-year-old girl who died after being forced to take drugs by her mother. 

    Poppy Widdison collapsed at her home in Grimsby in June 2013. 

    Last month her mother and ex-partner were found guilty of child cruelty.

    Her mother Michala Pyke, 37, of Ladysmith Road, and her former partner John Rytting, 40, of Frederick Street had denied giving her drugs in the months before her death.

    The pair will be sentenced later this month.

    Now a review has found that not enough people knew about the state in which Poppy was living.

    A decision on whether to allow drilling for oil in North Lincolnshire is expected today. 

    Egdon Resources hopes to extract up to 700,000 barrels from a single oil well in Brougton and Wressle.

    Proposals to turn a historic building in the centre of Lincoln in to flats will go before planners later. 

    Chad Varah House, a former theological college, named after the founder of The Samaritans who studied there - has been empty since last year. 

    Concerns have been raised about parking issues, but council  officers are recommending the plans are approved.

    Poultry farmers in Lincolnshire say they are losing millions of pounds due to a recent outbreak of bird flu. 

    Restrictions mean they are banned from exporting products to some countries including China - where the sale of chicken feet for use in soups is particularly lucrative. 

    Many are bought from the 19.1m birds raised in Lincolnshire each year.

    The A16 bypass at Cowbit is partly closed after a lorry carrying pigs was blown over by strong winds. 

    The police say there were 150 of the animals on board and some have had to be put down.

    The proposal comes in a report outlining the council's budget for the next three years which is due to be discussed by North East Lincolnshire Council's cabinet today. 

    Martin Vickers says it's not fair that the town is in the firing line.

    A rise in council tax in North East Lincolnshire is being proposed today. 

    The Council's Cabinet is being asked to support a 1.98% increase.

    A road safety charity is backing a family's call for lower speed limits in a residential area of Tattershall. 

    Lili-Mae Singlehurst, 12, and her dad were walking along a footpath on Thorpe Road when a car hit them last week. 

    Her dad Andrew Singlehurst has started a petition asking for a reduction in the speed limit from 60 to 40 miles per hour.

    The charity Brake has backed the calls saying safety should be paramount.

    Lincolnshire County Council says it'll consider if any changes need to be made once police conclude their inquiry.

    The A16 at Cowbit has been partly closed.

    It's after a lorry carrying pigs has overturned - a vet will assess their welfare.

    Drivers should expect some disruption on the road as it is shut between the Cowbit and Fulney roundabouts.

    Police say it'll be closed until further notice.
