    I've been talking to one of the police officers who was involved in the investigation which caught two illegal gangmasters in Lincolnshire. 

    Staysys Skarbalius and his wife Virinija Skarbaliene. have been ordered to repay £400,000 after they were caught running an illegal employment firm based in Scunthorpe.

    DC Grant Bailey, from the East Midlands Special Operations Unit told me it was the first operation of its kind in the region.

    The police investigating the discovery of the body of a man by a roadside in Lincolnshire say they believe he was hit by a passing motorist. 

    Chase Tate, 23, was found on the A1104 near Alford in the early hours of Saturday morning.

    Insp Simon Heads says he has a team of 15 officers dedicated to finding out what happened to Chase. He's asked anybody who knows what happened to contact him.

    Lincolnshire's health scrutiny committee has written to NHS England raising concerns about the possible closure of a children's heart unit. 

    It says it doesn't think NHS England has thought through the implications for sick children in Lincolnshire who use the service at Leicester's Glenfield Hospital (below).

    The chairman of the committee, Councillor Christine Talbot, said: "The committee have been following this issue since 2012.

    "I am concerned that  we will not be able to take a full and active part in the consultation because of the restrictions around local government elections that begin at the end of March."

    It's a favourite day trip for thousands of people from Lincolnshire - but now Clumber Park's at the centre of a bird flu scare.

    Swans which were found dead at the National Trust property, near Worksop, recently are being tested for the H5N8 strain, the Government's confirmed.

    The birds were found near the park's famous lake (pictured above). It comes after a flock of turkeys were infected in Tetney, near Louth. 

    There's also been a confirmed outbreak in Leicestershire.

    One of Spalding's largest employers has announced that almost 50 jobs are at risk. 

    Staff at the Spalding Bakery on Fulney Lane have been told discussions into redundancies are underway.

    The site, which was re-branded as the Addo Group in 2015, produces pastry snack items and currently employs 500 people.

    Police say they are investigating a robbery at the McColl's store on Hillgate, Gedney Hill, near Spalding which happened early yesterday morning.

    Officers say offenders forced their way into the shop between 05:00 and 05.30 and stole money and goods.

    There's an appeal for witnesses who saw anything suspicious in the area, especially anyone running from the scene.

    There's calls for a zero tolerance approach to vandalism and anti-social behaviour in Cleethorpes this morning. 

    It follows a fire and a series of attacks at Pleasure Island theme park in the town last week. 

    The park closed last October after decades as a fixture on the North East Lincolnshire seafront.

    The owner Melanie Wood says there is security on the site but the youths are still getting into the park.

    A Lithuanian couple from Lincolnshire who were jailed in 2015 in a landmark case have been ordered to repay more than £400,000 in criminal proceeds. 

    The pair had built up a property empire and gangmaster business using fake ID. 

    The police say the Home Office is considering deporting Staysys Skarbalius and his wife Virinija Skarbaliene.

    The pair had lived in Scotter, near Gainsborough, and ran their fraudulent firm, CV Staff Services, from offices in Scunthorpe.

    A planning application has been submitted which could see locomotives back on moorland on the Isle of Axholme. 

    It's part of a scheme to help young people develop skills in engineering. 

    The proposals by the Crowle Peatland Railway Society, external have been backed by money from North Lincolnshire Council and the Heritage Lottery Fund.

    Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue dealt with a number of chimney fires last night. 

    The service was called out to properties in Spalding, Gainsborough and Holbeach to tackle the fires. 

    People with open fireplaces are being reminded to get their chimneys cleaned regularly.
